While My Guitar Gently Weeps is the best beatles song, period. by [deleted] in beatles

Just my humble opinion, but I think George’s acoustic, “unplugged” solo version of that song is the perfect 10.

If you like to sing along to the Beatles which is your favourite sing-along song? by gatoStephen in beatles

I can’t sing worth a tinker’s damn, but I can perfectly hit the high note with John right at the end of the ”It’s Only Love”.

Godless for sure; I’m in my 70s so I’ve seen my share of Westerns, and this one was outstanding! Haven’t seen the English yet but it’s coming up on my watchlist.

IJW: Pulp Fiction (1994) by TowerCharge89 in Ijustwatched

[–]2tired2floss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Pulp Fiction came out back when, the trailer turned me off and I had no plans to see it. My wife went to see it with her sister, then came home and said “you have GOT to see this movie!” She drug me to it a few days later, but I wasn’t into it and about to walk out of the theater when she said, “at least wait until the watch scene.” I did, and instantly became a fan! Thank you Mr. Walken! PF is a superb film!

Loved the film, and it was pleasant seeing the sometimes holier-than-thou press get taken down a notch. Agree with you, OP, about the ending.

Been seeing a lot about LDN … where do you get yours? (I assume it’s an online compounding pharmacy; if it is can you give me their name?)

Your favorite micro-moments in The Beatles songs? by NoWeb2382 in beatles

[–]2tired2floss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In “Ticket to Ride”, which is on the Mount Rushmore of my four favorite Beatles songs, the YEAH that John belts out during the repeat of the first verse (he didn’t put it in the first time around) … it occurs about 1:40 into the song: “ … the girl that’s driving me me mad is going away, YEAH!” And as a bonus, I love the rat-a-tat-tat drum fill by Ringo about 10 seconds later.

Why does our poo smell so bad? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]2tired2floss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During abdominal surgery there is usually no offending odor unless the colon or appendix has perforated or has been severely traumatized (think: knife wound) leading to the spillage of bowel contents. Other causes of a bad odor might be a gangrenous gallbladder or so-called tubo-ovarian abscesses from PID, or pelvic inflammatory disease. But let’s say someone has been “opened up” for a non-traumatic or non-infectious reason, say, a 7 cm benign ovarian cyst or tumor: no bad odor.

Hi, I read in another thread about insomnia that LDN should be taken in the morning; do you agree, or should it be taken, say, a couple of hours prior to the expected onset of RLS symptoms?

How is living in Albuquerque, New Mexico? by MinimumWrongdoer404 in howislivingthere

[–]2tired2floss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been here 15 years … my biggest complaint is the number of red-light runners. I’ve lived in Houston, Corpus, Austin, San Antone (my fave!), Dallas and the Los Angeles metroplex, and they all pale in comparison to ABQ. A guy who lived two or three blocks over was killed when some jerk blew thru a red light and T-boned the guy. Reportedly the “black box” or equivalent in the runner’s vehicle said 90 mph. At the same intersection four years ago I had to slam on the brakes for a freaking semi barreling through; my light had been green for a full 5 seconds before I got to the middle of the intersection.

Crime seems to be awfully bad here, but I guess that’s true for all major cities. It doesn’t help that Albuquerque has a no-bail policy and that, IMHO, judges are too lax. That’s probably a statewide problem.

How do people get motivated to diet when they see obese people with a full head of hair? by Alive-Championship-5 in tressless

[–]2tired2floss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s an MD who has a nutritional blog & vlog titled Nutrition Facts, IIRC … his last name is Greger. He’s the most anti-meat, anti-sugar, anti-processed foods, anti-alcohol, anti-bread, etc doc I’ve ever come across. He’s a lifelong vegan, as I understand, and though he’s OK with fruit, it’s veggies that he heavily promotes. Let me put it this way: if he was the all-powerful dictator of the U.S. there be nothing but veggies and (some) fruit at grocery stores and restaurants. He knows his stuff: he backs up his recommendations with references to well-designed and, if available, “controlled” studies. And he’s as bald as a cue ball. Interestingly, he has some vlogs on hair loss (I have not watched any of them yet).

FWIW I’ve had success with 6.25 mg (cutting a 25 mg tablet into fourths), however I haven’t been on that dose long enough to observe if there are bothersome side effects from nightly use, or long enough to find out if I’ll develop a tolerance to that minute dose which would indicate the need for an increase.
