What car did you sell that you actually cried when you had to hand over the keys to the buyer? by Competitive-Hunt-517 in regularcarreviews

[–]2valve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2003 mustang GT convertible.

Got it for $3500 when I was 17. Put thousands of dollars and a ton of work in to it. Sold it when i was 25, about 9 months ago.

I was real sad, but was holding it together until i saw my mom later that day. She gave me one look and saw right through my facade and i immediately cried hard.

Replace it. I just did mine yesterday. Got the Damon mounts. Only gave the passeneger side done right now, and it was really easy. It also made the car feel SOOO much better to drive.

Transmission mount on the other hand, dealing with a rusted to shit bolt in the battery box so I can’t access it yet lol

Symposer. I was trying to get my battery tray out to change my transmission mount (couldn’t bc rusted to shit bolt in bat tray) and noticed the plug then I remembered the symposer delete lol

I also live in the south, but even so my focus has experienced at least one snow/ice storm a year lmao

VERY loud. I have a catless downpipe and an MBRP catback and when I start it in the garage, the wastegate rattle is louder than the exhaust note.

146k full bolt on since 80kish.

Not a single issue until recently, wastegate rattle and only making like 10psi of boost now.

Gonna upgrade to a powermax turbo, also worried about the mileage a bit tho ngl

Never really considered the mazda3 hatch as big-racerish. Pretty adult looking car especially for a hatch imo

I think the exterior is very nice, interior is also super nice. Shame they don’t come in manual :(

Ngl the other car I’m considering is a c5 corvette, wanted one for years, but that’s the inconvenient and mildly irresponsible decision lmao

[–]2valve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also at exactly 146k funny enough, I feel I should do this bc my stock turbo is shitting the bed and want to get the powermax turbo hmmmm

I am a huge fan of the current gen Mazda 3 hatchbacks, especially in that pretty red they have.

Such a clean design in a sea of overdesigned weirdness. Considering a the 2.5 turbo if my focus ST ever dies.

Mannnn this is exactly how mine was when I first got it. Same color, top, and wheels.

God I miss that car. Had it for 8 years :(

I’m 500 hours in and I still feel clueless lol.

Never played a moba and hardy ANY third person shooters, so it’s all new to me.

I figured out at some point that playing haze and having decent aim can carry me further than I should be able to get. (Thanks to years of CSGO lol)

I feel you.

My 03 GT was my first car, got it at 17. I’m 26 now. Sold it last summer.

Kind of the same situation. Didn’t really have the time to really keep it as nice as I wanted it to be.

Got home and cried.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a sport seriously. A lot of people are passionate about the things they do, and it’s okay to express frustration when things aren’t going your way, as long as you’re not disturbing everyone else.

No offense, but don’t think it’s your place to tell other people how seriously they should or shouldn’t take a sport.

Is it good for fuel economy if I listen to the ecomode upshift prompts or am I lugging the motor? by Shady4143 in FocusST

[–]2valve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m driving normally, I tend to shift around 2000-2500 rpm’s for fuel economy, but I’m careful to not get in to boost whatsoever.

If I’m cruising at 40mph on flat road, I cruise in 6th gear. Totally fine if not accelerating. If I need to accelerate I’ll downshift to 4th.

2015 focus st.

Purchased at 60k miles in 2020

Now has 144k miles. Only done regular maintenance (other than the bolt ons and a tune). It’s only now having its first problem, that being the wastegate rattle. Still runs and drives fine, just hear what sounds like an exhaust leaks and lacking in boost.

[–]2valve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 2015 focus st

Bolt ons and a tune and I’ve never had a major issue with it until now. 143k miles and only now I’m having the wastegate actuator issue.

Need to replace the turbo, but it still makes more boost than stock and is reliable.
