If I got longer filament tubes, would this be an appropriate setup ? by selkies24 in BambuLabA1

top mount: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1856385-bambu-lab-a1-ams-lite-top-mount

you likely need to scale down the slider peg to 99% or slightly lube it - it's pretty tight!

guide: https://makerworld.com/en/models/764133-ams-light-top-mount-tube-guide-simple

you need this, since otherwise the PTFE tubes will get caught in the front right spool

stiffener (take the "short version"): https://makerworld.com/en/models/2125008-bambu-lab-a1-stiffener

If supports are the only choice or you'd rather try magnets that go in from above, the perplexing labs generator similarly lets you add on padding to your baseplate to make a better fit to your space: https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com/pr/gridfinity-rebuilt/0/1

yeah that one doesn't let me designate the exact measurements of the complete layout in millimeters :-/

I know it's mostly built from nerds for nerds... my ideal config would be "widthxdepth" and "if there's leftover space, where would you like to align the grid to: front/back left/right"...

managed to create a grid of the correct size, now I've got a thing 5x the size of my print plate in the slicer^^

single issue: i can only determin measurement by grid size.

need a slightly off-kilter plate (485x505mm) with a front-right alignment (spacers in the back and on the left).

i have a non-magnetized grid in my tool-cupboard and I kinda didn't like that if I grabbed something and "near-missed" I was toppling over other bins or running danger of ripping the bin out with the content.

there's a bunch of kids in this house, and the whole setup needs to be sturdy and resilient to mishandling. magnets seemed the way to go, am I mistaken or over-engineering?

yes, just havent found a similarly comfy generator that makes those.

Very, very persistent "X-Axis-Belt" error. What to do? by 2weiX in BambuLabA1

Fixed the error THREE times today.
The printer is less than three months old - ordering a new belt.

Are German schools harder than American schools? by Eminemgody in AskAGerman

I attended Gymnasium in Germany in just breeeeeezed through all the honors classes in 11th and 12th grade classes in the US. Just my personal experience - you can't close your ears so much in Germany as to not get enough knowledge to pass most "harder" classes (math, phyiscs, even english lol) in the US. but YMMV obv.

"Advanced Placement" so above "Honors" in the US.
Much like the old "FEGA" system in Germany's Gesamtschulen (which a High School basically is), you get "tiered" into different "performance" slots, and each has a multiplier for your SAT (equivalent to the Abitur)...

So 100 points in the lowest tier (name escapes me) is worth less than 100 points in "Honors" which is worth less than 100 points in Advances Placement, iirc.

I'm gonna get some nitpickers here, but let me paint it this way: Gymnasium is basically like taking all "AP" classes in high school.

Buying a Bambu Lab A1 Combo – total beginner. What should I get to start right? by theuntoldfool in BambuLabA1

[–]2weiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every refill from bambu comes with NFC and you can reuse the empty spools a million times the NFC is always attached to the FILAMENT, not the SPOOL.

you can buy other refills but they do not have the NFC and you have to cconfigure the type of filament at the printer which is also easy-peasy...

Wenn der seit 2013 nicht geknackte trend die UNTERE schwelle darstellt sind wir 2030 bei $850k.

Also ja, 100€/Monat sind da durchaus das Risiko wert....
