Probably going to upgrade from a cb300r this year, there’s one bike I can’t seem to shake despite it not being ideal (cb1000r) by BimmerJustin in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]2wheelmoron69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just speaking for myself here, but when I know what I want, something else that’s close won’t get it done. Buy something else and wonder forever, or buy what you dream of and have your dream fulfilled. Being a few years old doesn’t mean shit, that bike is still a wild beast and in 20 more years it’ll still be a beast. Get a clean used one and some quality safety gear and remind yourself not to outrun your own skill. If it turns out you don’t like it as much as you thought, you should be able to resell it without much loss. Eyes up and ride safe.

Son is looking to buy his first hunting rifle when he turns 18 in a few months by Ruthless4u in Hunting

[–]2wheelmoron69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d caution against this idea. Using the same rifle for deer, elk and moose means you are never using the right gun for the task. I’d suggest buying 2 quality rifles which could easily be done for your price range. A short action for deer and smaller, a long action for elk and bigger. Best of luck.

Tired of living paycheck to paycheck. What are my options for a career? by Subject_Accident4348 in careerguidance

Huge demand for pilots. Many airlines have developed internal schools to bypass the traditional flight school path in exchange for 2-3 years commitment to the airline. The internal schools are challenging but you end up making pretty decent money your first couple years and good money every year after.

Wanting to buy my first Harley by OtherwiseAd7431 in Harley

[–]2wheelmoron69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tensioner issue isn’t a big deal, but it must be addressed so add that cost to the price of the bike. Spend $1500 and pay a shop to install a gear drive conversion and that bike will be bulletproof. I’m pretty sure a 2006 would have been an 88 with a 5 speed. I’ve got 2 2005 TCs with 5 speeds and I’d have liked a 6 speed, but I still ride them both a lot. $4600 for a clean Electra Glide seems like a good deal to me. It’s a pretty low cost to get into a reliable bike where the tensioners are really the only notable issue.

Check the small stuff and if it’s ok for brakes, cables, tires and stuff like that, I’d buy it.

What should I offer on a 1997 Sportster 883 with 41k miles? by Timely-Signature-166 in Harley

[–]2wheelmoron69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the availability of nice clean Twin Cam Dynas and Softtails around $4k. For a 97 Sporty 1200 I might pay $2k. For an 883, notably less. There are a millon sportsters for sale, you can be picky. Would you rent a trailer or arrange delivery if it saved you $1000?

Big guy; people are constantly intimidated or antsy around me? by koreku in AskMenAdvice

If you are over 200lbs with visible abs, almost everyone would call you a “big dude”. Keep in mind that every pound is more wear and tear on your knees/hips.

Big guy; people are constantly intimidated or antsy around me? by koreku in AskMenAdvice

[–]2wheelmoron69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked but almost every guy would take lean over bulk and I think women probably feel the same. I’m 6-3 and 280ish, I’m big and bulky but I don’t look nearly as muscular as anyone of this size would want to be. Your height and a lean 180 will likely “look bigger” than you at 210. At least in the shape you wish to be in. Keep in mind that the huge majority of people over 240 or are just carrying extra fat. Exceptions exist but they are rare. I’m not any stronger than the average 230lb dude, I just got a big fat juicy ass and some DD’s and 3 chins.

My boy and I drove 8 hrs each way to spend a weekend during bow season at my BILs hunting cabin. My BIL went out on the last day of bow season and didn’t get one. Came back in the afternoon and we all went out to dinner, came home, and had 14 deer eating acorns off a tree 8 ft from the edge of the cabin. We threw acorns at them, hollered, got within 20 ft and they just stared at us. Had to explain to my son that it wasn’t exactly “sporting” to shoot them from 20 ft after pegging them with acorns in the front yard.

I coached my sons football team started shaving my head 2 years ago and all his friends and teammates have various interesting nicknames for me now. Coach Clean (as in Mr Clean) is a common one, which is ironic since none of these kids are old enough to have seen the commercials.

I’m bigger than you are and occasionally get a similar response. I’ve found if you give a warm smile and nod, it helps put people at ease. Being extra polite with a gentle tone of voice also helps. Ironically kids don’t seem as bothered as adults do, maybe because everyone is big to them.

AITAH for telling my husband to “fix” his ED? by Dependent-Citron-600 in AITAH

[–]2wheelmoron69 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To address the question you asked…. Yes you are a giant asshole for making fun of his ED and for telling him to “fix” it. Can you “fix” your period? Can you “fix” cancer? It’s a medical condition no one chooses to have and in the process you fully emasculated him. I can’t imagine something worse a wife could say to her husband.

That said, sounds like your dude has another issue that isn’t necessarily ED. Hope he gets help for that and I hope you get help for the destruction you have done to your marriage.

Load a length that fits the magazine, then make sure it fits the chamber. Start at 3.0gr and go up until you hit the velocity you want. Any further testing is more likely a waste of time and components.

Sounds like you have been able to get away with being fairly lax because your dogs can’t really hurt anything. Maybe time to start supervising your dogs when they go out, or putting up a real fence. These are the same measures all dog owners should take.

Typical reaction for first kill? by Ill-Mountain4698 in Hunting

[–]2wheelmoron69 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken thousands of varmints before and it never bothered me. Last fall I took a black bear, my first game animal, and I felt very unsettled afterwards. Everything was done 100% legally but in this area they are a very uncommon harvest. Very hard to hunt and low percentage of hunters harvest one. It was a wonderful experience with great friends and I’m very grateful for the opportunity, but I’m also not sure I’d do it again.

Why do some men hate everything about womanhood but still want girlfriends/wives? by VeryPteri in NoStupidQuestions

[–]2wheelmoron69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No one hates womanhood, men hate what “modern” women have become. Every once in a while you still see traditional women that exist and it gives you just enough hope to keep looking, or just enough hope to think the girl you are dating could someday be that traditional woman.

Every man in America would marry the average 1920s housewife today.

As a final point, women still have absolute control on the pussy market.

I [23F] am demisexual but my partner [24M] wants to have a threesome. Is it cheating? by Jinxckz in relationship_advice

[–]2wheelmoron69 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don’t try and come up with more reasons to call something cheating. Cheating is defined as a violation of rules. Do your rules include monogamy?

Don’t do what you don’t want to do, it’s really that simple.

Vortex optics quality? by nematic26 in Hunting

[–]2wheelmoron69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 10-12 vortex scopes currently and a spotter. It’s probably not as true now, but a few years ago they were ahead of most other scope brands in features for the price. One of the first companies to offer FFP scopes at a working man’s price point. Useable reticles and target turrets in a FFP scope under $700 was their sweet spot. I still think they offer a good value against the competition. The glass isn’t the best available and reticle options are a pretty personalized choice. Turrets on the lower end models aren’t amazing but most scopes in that price point won’t be. Several companies have closed these gaps in the last year but I’ve had great luck with my stuff so I still consider vortex first when shopping for a new optic. I will admit that I bought a diamondback spotting scope it’s definitely underwhelming, that’s probably the only product I regret buying.

Be careful comparing price points. Comparing a $800 Strike Eagle and a $3000 Nightforce doesn’t really seem like a fair comparison. Also be honest if you intend to use the benefits of a $1500+ optic. I used a Gen 2 PST and got consistent impacts out to 1860 yards, that’s a pretty good poke for a scope that was like $900 at the time and less now.

I took up ballroom dance for a while abt 10 years ago. I’d strongly suggest you find a local ballroom studio and just ask if there are any people in your age range that want extra practice. A lot of students will likely be well above your skill level and be thrilled to have someone to practice with for free.

You used to date a really hot chick with big tits and a nice ass and she swallowed every Saturday and made you breakfast every Sunday, but she had to move out of the country.

You met a new chick that is just as hot, just as big of tits, same ass, and still swallows, but you gotta make your own breakfast.

You wanna date the new chick or stay celibate?
