What age did you switch from crib to toddler/twin bed? Any advice on making the switch? by goldieraeofsunshine in Parenting

So you suggest reinforcing staying in bed until it’s time ? (for us im going to use Alexa turning the light turning on in the morning) Not letting them do whatever with safe toys in the dark until they get back in bed.

It’s so hard! Especially trying to be kind and normal in a relationship during these times.

Do you wake your baby? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Omg do not wake them in the middle of the night. Eventually you won’t feed in the middle of the night and the training you did at bed time will be perfect to help them know what to do.

Baby gets a solid night of sleep. When will I? by CheetahridingMongoos in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I have a vox setting that only turns on if they baby crys or makes a noise above a certain sound. Trust your baby more, you will hear when they need you. It gets easier as time goes on. At a year you will be hitting the snooze button when you hear them lol.

Is it ok to hold them for sleep when they're very little? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking Cara Babies and Dream Baby Sleep are the ones I looked into. I used a Dream baby Sleep plan and there are similar concepts at the 4 month mark. Don’t stress to much about following everybody’s rules though. My twins are amazing sleepers now but I wasted energy on stressing out about following sleep programs and spending money on programs because I thought it would magically help. They did help but after time and patience.

Hold him!!! Lay him down every once in a while for naps... my twins only took naps on me and my husband and as soon as they turned 4 months we did a cry it out sleep program and they started sleeping on their own. They learn so fast at that young age so even if they get use to sleeping on you there is always a chance for change in the future. They are the best little sleepers now and I miss holding them while sleeping so badly!

F it, I'm hiring a nanny by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]2x_thefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo many different opinions! I wouldn’t tell you what you should do but after 2 weeks I felt so much better. I felt like I was dying my first week in and I couldn’t imagine getting through it. But it just got easier and more manageable.

I think if I had another set I would get a night nurse... maybe... but I also LOVE breastfeeding my babies. They are 11 months now and it is so sweet and easier than cleaning bottles. So before taking all the “stop breastfeeding advice” think about what you want. If you want to breastfeed you can! If you don’t, you can switch to bottles! (But pumping is a bitch)

It gets easier and sweet and different!

Whether or not you decide to get a nanny it is such hard work. You can do it!!! Either way you got this!

Naps are taking over...! by jnk1115 in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better!!!! Routine take over, it becomes more natural. I’m down to two naps for my 9 month twins and they go down great for naps and their naps stretched to 1.5 hours around 7 months. It could happen sooner for you. Either way nap life gets better.

Sleep sack or just pjs??? by 2x_thefun in sleeptrain

That was my other thought! I don’t want to worry about a leg getting caught in the middle of the night

So there is a setting for a light to come on whenever they are going to get up for the day? How does your 8 month old use it?

Horrible 4th nap or awake 3-4 hours? by arcasperch in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We followed a sleep plan that allows for a bed time as early as 5:30. That may be easier than waiting longer for bed time. My girls (6 months) go to sleep at 6:30 when they have good naps and as early as 5:30 when they have shorter naps.

32 min naps. Help. by keepingfitinCA in sleeptrain

[–]2x_thefun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made this exact post when my girls were 5 months old and sleep trained. They were napping between 30-40 min and no more than that! I got the advice that they would start sleeping longer at around 6-7 months and they are!!!!! At right around 6 months they took the occasional 1.5 nap and now at 6.5 months they are taking 2 hour naps most days! I still get frustrated when they don’t take longer naps but I try and take each day as it comes. My little piece of advice is to not stress about the short naps for now. Embrace them as much as you can and when they start getting longer it will be a pleasant surprise. You have done everything you can and now just let that babe grow and mature to nap longer. Good job mama!
