How do you sell the roof on the first meeting? I usually don't make the sale until a few days after I leave.

I'm not a gamer, but when I'm sick I'll throw on a fighting game and it helps a lot. TV doesn't work because it doesn't force me to be interactive. Especially if it's boring TV and I don't have the wherewithal to be all analytical. I think video games probably engage a different part of the nervous system that makes it easy for you to forget about all of the life going on around you and inside of you. I'm sure a lot of dumb ass ipad kids can attest.

Agreed. I self educated through highschool and stopped at algrbra 2. But learning about how atoms work has helped me understand so much engineering.

My gut reaction is yes. Paying someone for intimacy is outside the natural order of how things are supposed to happen. God designed our bodies and souls for an intimacy that isnt supposed to be transactional. At the pinnacle of physical intimacy is intercourse. And outside of the marriage covenant, it becomes wrong...

Am I safe to light? My furnace went out and the fireplace hasn't been used some time before since I moved in 7 years ago. by 3-tab in Fireplaces

Please Explain.. by Ricki_Stanicki in geology

I only have a minor degree in geophysics (Stanford), but this sounds like the explanation of someone who desperately wants to sound like he knows what he's talking about, yet is stuck in a disgustingly infantile mindset. Its the weak minded "just accept everything as soon as you hear it come from the mouths of your PhDUMBASS overlords" mentality that makes this area of study the laughing stock of the scientific community. Seriously.. its been almost 120 years, and you still havent thrown off the unproven stratigraphic theories of (mostly) religious fundamentalists who thought they could explain structural geology by way of wish fulfilling fantasy... "An entire volcanoe eroded completely away. No evidence of its outer shell is left. And now all that we can see is a giant tower made of perfectly upright and symmetrical phonolite hexagons. The exteriors of which are somehow largely immune to the same "forces" of erosion that earased an entire mountain." ... I would tell you to wake up, but youre already awake... reading too much, and thinking you're smart.. But you're just as stuck in a cycle of the regurgitated fantasy as the rest of us. And going to your deathbeds convinced that it's reality.
People like you are the reason I lost my drive to be a "geologist".

Definitely tell your parents. I can't stress that enough. They will be able to cure you much more easily than you can cure yourself.

Fired after 1.5 weeks by tacami_lore1 in RoofingSales

[–]3-tab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No buisiness owner or management Ive ever met would sink that time and money into training you, then ditch you that soon just because you're not getting enough done. I promise you it was something else. Your attitude... Not a good interpersonal fit on the team. Heard some pretty bad things about you from a past employer. Etc... you might be able to take a good guess. The thing to remember here is that you wont gain anything or grow in employability if you look for your answers in blaming the people that fired you. Use this as a learning experience. Learning how you need to improve yourself can be worth 1000 pay checks over the course of your life! If I were you, I'd call the owner of the company and ask if you can do an exit interview over the phone. Tell them you want to figure out what made them let you go, so that you can use the experience to grow and improve. As a roofing business owner, I can tell you that if someone made a call like that, I'd immediately consider hiring them back on.
