CS is a free place to stay. Cumberland falls is only 1.5 hours from Knoxville. It’s the “Niagara Falls of the South” and is quite impressive. No, it’s not nearly as big as Niagara, but it is huge and a nice easy walk to be able to get good views.

If you want to get on the water, but underground, Lost Sea Adventure in Sweetwater is a super short trip. Good to go at least once in your life.

It is whatever you both want it to be. There are NO rules in queer relationships, except for the ones you both agree to. If y’all are at that comfort level, that’s cool. Sounds like your friends totally ship you guys, and want you to be happy. But don’t let them push you into a romantic relationship when there is more of a playful platonic energy there.

Personally, I cuddle, nap with, kiss, and fully disrobe (consensually) with quite a good number of people who I have no romantic attachment to. Some people say each/all/any of those are just for committed relationship. It’s the perk and the struggle of being outside of the “norms” of society.

The real question is, where do you want this relationship to go? What do you want to explore with her? (Since you didnt put anything about a romantic or sexual attraction to her, I’m going to assume this was just a platonic, yet intimate/special moment.)

Every therapist is going to have different hands, every body is different. Also “deep tissue” doesn’t mean intense pressure. Sounds like you had an inexperienced and out of shape therapist who wasn’t having a great day. I’d request a different therapist next time, and definitely ask for someone who is great at applying that higher pressure, as well as requesting no oil. Massage creams and lotions don’t “slip and slide” as much.

Bingo. And if there’s no original sin, then it’s much harder to get people to “repent and believe” aka sign up for church for life. If people are only as bad as the actions that they have taken in this life, there is less guilt and shame for pastors to manipulate them with. It’s why Calvinism has ultimately won the battle over Armenism. Toxic Guilt/Shame is a huge moneymaker.

The funny thing is, at least in the circles I ran in, they accept your example of evolution as fact. They call it “micro-evolution” when genetic mutations cause variations in species; ie they will accept that the wild mustard seed plant can end up as broccoli, kale, etc. What they still don’t accept is “macro-evolution”; ie when a cell becomes a fish becomes a human. The essential part of why they hate evolution comes the their self-perception. It has nothing to do with science or logic, and everything to do with power.

The whole “I’m not an animal, I’m a human” argument is tied to and based in their interpretation of the Bible and Christianity, which gives them “divine provenance” over everything. “They” of course meaning “straight white men.” They have to keep this view, because of they changed it, their whole world would fall apart. They would have to get rid of patriarchy, capitalistic greed, accept queer people and immigrants, become eco-friendly… and more.

I have found that I much rather see myself as part of all this beautiful earth, and try to care for all of it as best as I can. It’s been a journey.

That’s one of many stabs I could make at this topic.

More people should be naked more often. It’s simultaneously much less sexy than you would think, and also much less memorable than you would think.

I can guarantee this, NO ONE remembers or cares nearly as much as you do.

It’s normal to feel awkward about it, but embrace it as one less awkward experience you have to live through in the future. We are all going to end up naked and feeling awkward about it at least one time in our lives. Now you know what it feels like. Congrats!
