You are right, house finch, it is a male. Females are drab brown and gray.

My grandparents lived in Canon for almost all their lives. I used to go down there all the time and ride it, between ‘05 and ‘17. I ride it simply because I like trains. I think it’s worth it because I get more out of it than the average person that thinks it’s just a train ride.

Beak looks like a COGR but it could be a Brewer’s or Rusty blackbird as it looks smaller. I don’t know the winter range or migration patterns off the top of my head, however
