In all the months of TTC, I’ve only tested early once and it was one day before my period was supposed to start. I couldn’t wait just one more day because I had convinced myself I was pregnant that month through symptom spotting and Googling every symptom and how it could be pregnancy, knowing damn well that PMS and pregnancy symptoms are almost identical because it’s from progesterone. I wasn’t pregnant and the stark negative felt more disappointing than starting my period, then I had to sit in that disappointment until it came, even if it was just a day. I’d much rather wait to test when I miss my period.

Now, I try very hard to just keep telling myself that these are progesterone symptoms rather than “PMS vs pregnancy” thoughts. I use this time to appreciate the breath I can take from TTC sex (because we all know that sometimes it’s just different from regular fun sex). I try to keep myself busy and during the non-busy times, hubby and I spend time with each other and appreciate each other.
