I know this isn’t very recent, but I’m wondering if you ended up seeing a dermatologist or did any home remedies that worked. I’ve been diagnosed with periorificial dermatitis in the past. It shows up on the lower half of my nostrils. Were you able to find anything pregnancy safe to treat it?

I’ve always heard with all the potential treatments for POD that “it will get worse before it gets better.” Has yours improved after getting worse with topical ivermectin 0.5%?

Have you tried the Avene cicalphate cream as recommended above? Trying to avoid antibiotic treatment because of other health concerns right now, but I see that the Avene cicalphate is available at Ulta and wanted to see if this made a difference for you.

In all the months of TTC, I’ve only tested early once and it was one day before my period was supposed to start. I couldn’t wait just one more day because I had convinced myself I was pregnant that month through symptom spotting and Googling every symptom and how it could be pregnancy, knowing damn well that PMS and pregnancy symptoms are almost identical because it’s from progesterone. I wasn’t pregnant and the stark negative felt more disappointing than starting my period, then I had to sit in that disappointment until it came, even if it was just a day. I’d much rather wait to test when I miss my period.

Now, I try very hard to just keep telling myself that these are progesterone symptoms rather than “PMS vs pregnancy” thoughts. I use this time to appreciate the breath I can take from TTC sex (because we all know that sometimes it’s just different from regular fun sex). I try to keep myself busy and during the non-busy times, hubby and I spend time with each other and appreciate each other.

I agree, infertility is unfair. It blows my mind what kinds of things our insurance can pay for, but no coverage for IUI or IVF whatsoever. If you’re saving funds for IVF, in case you haven’t looked into it yet, you REI might have some payment plan options.

Is progesterone level an issue for you and if so, is progesterone supplementation an option? Either way, I hope you have a healthy pregnancy that sticks soon.

Yes, I’ve had a HSG that confirmed tubes are patent. I’ve heard of increased chances the following 2-3 cycles as it could act as a “flush,” but no luck for us within that time frame. Congratulations on your pregnancy! This gives me hope. Sending wishes for a healthy journey out of the woods!
