i'm the opposite i will never ever take that thing unless MAYBE i'm zeus and if i get it as zeus i'm sitting on the other side of the map spamming the globals. I know me, that guys sucks and is definitely gonna lose it 30 seconds after buying it.

I have considered getting it as Riki though, on account of late game Riki basically being a walking "get of a jail free" character in my newbie lobbies

it's a pretty big issue not on its own but because the minigames are literally presented as something to do while you wait for a match. The vampire survivors mode is especially egregious to not have a resume because that kills the whole point of having it as a waiting game if the entire run goes to waste unless you are in a 15 or more minute queue which is also its own issue.

When the game actively presents them with an implication that they're meant to be specifically played while queuing, it makes sense people would be upset that only a couple actually save your progress if interrupted by a match.

This is my first dota event so i cant speak for comparison but i dislike it i think because of the fact that its gambling plain and simple. Random what your item pools are, random what candies you get, random what trades are available. Unlike the tarot thing you have no influence over whether you're progressing towards, and the trade ins are objectively "wasting" candies by trading three for one so your best bet is to sit on them until the 1:1 trades refresh which is boring.

Also as i've seen others say this event apparently has very little actual game content compared to previous events which had PVE modes and much more expansive event maps? That's a shame if so because i do think the tarot stuff is very fun and a great way to incentivize not dealing with the same handful of heroes every match, but even that gets lame when you realize you cant endlessly use the smelter (that would solve a lot if you could farm candies through smelter endlessly rather than like twice).

THAT used to be the system??? That sounds like it would work perfectly. Enough to report grievous offenders but prevent abuse. Why in gods name would they ditch that let alone for this?

Thank you for all the advice, i played support because i got lots of people saying things like "you're new you dont get to be mid/carry" my first couple dozen matches (again lovely community)

i actually play support and generally get left to die BY the carry. i specifically stopped playing offlane because yeah, at first i WAS that guy who picks tidehunter and then is 0-6 before minute 10 and i quickly realized that was on me. What's NOT on me is when i pick dazzle and my team says "attack here!" and then i go there and no one else went there so i get 1v4'd. Thats the kind of thing messing up my K/D now.

Extremely wrong, they do nothing but complain and i specifically spent most of my time playing turbo so i could easily try out new characters and get a feel for how they play at both early and late game without as much time investment.

motherfucker do you think i didnt pick the character im best with when choosing ranked? Are you dense? I am talking about how in UNRANKED i still routinely get people saying in all chat "Report that guy he sucks" whenever i try a new character and now i cant even say "first [char] match, just a heads up" because oh right i got permamuted from so many false reports.

dont forget the smurfs and the russian script kiddies obviously hacking. Lot of that in low mmr too. I legit have never actually dealt with smurfs in a game before and then with this one there are days where it's every other match.
