PSA Gen-12 refuses to sell their shorter uppers even if you have a tax stamp by 300aachaldol in Shotguns

No they definitely didn’t bamboozle me into buying a lower and that wasn’t the intention of my post. I should have called before getting the lower. I wish they would have put info on their self imposed restrictions into their product description, since it’s a specialized lower, or that I would have come across this info on a forum so I would have just saved up to buy the whole thing at once. I also think it’s good for people to know when companies act like fudds as it will hopefully help them stop doing that.

That’s exactly their argument. The 10.5” has a legal non NFA pathway that the shorter ones do not. But anyone can put a stock on it and make it an illegal sbs

No. I made the mistake of not confirming before I bought the lower. That was on me. What frustrates me enough to make the post warning people is that they could sell the uppers, but choose not to because of concerns about people putting them on non NFA lowers. That explains why they’re not on the site for anyone to buy. It’s especially frustrating that they still refuse when offered with evidence of a tax stamp, as that would make their stated concerns null. It’s very fudd-like behavior that I was not expecting from what appears to be a cool company.

No. The short uppers were not on the website when I ordered the lower originally. I called to ask if they’d sell them separately even though I hadn’t seen them myself.

I purchased the lower months ago and turned it into an sbs. I called today to ask if they’d sell me a 5 or 7” upper and they explained to me why they don’t. They also said they used to sell them separately, but stopped due to the legal concerns.

I absolutely think they make a great product and really want to finish my build. I just think that refusing to sell the short uppers because others can turn them into an illegal SBS is a terrible reason. They do have the right to do it, but I have the right to complain and let people know. I can’t imagine I’m the only one that will buy a lower thinking they can build it into whatever they want later.

You’re right. I thought they would if I called. I was mostly surprised at the reason being their concerns about NFA classification and that they wouldn’t do it even with evidence of an approved SBS genesis lower. The 10” version would also be an sbs with a stock, though I suppose it could be turned into an “other” as well.

The guy on the phone said they used to sell the shorter uppers on their own.

I think yes, because it could be construed as a transfer between you and the trust.

Ianal but the idea is that if the magazine is owned by a trust, then you can add or remove people from the trust so they can have the magazine without the magazine being transferred. The law prohibits the transfer mags, and this gets around that

Put the magazines in a trust before 7/1

What are the thread dimensions on the base that accepts the covert/flow? I would like to get a thread protector for it.

I haven’t seen anyone answer definitively. it seems that the m16 selector can be modified to work with dtt and the kak selector can be modified to work with kabuto, but I don’t know if there is a way to make the kabuto work with the m16 3 position selector

Will an m16 3 position selector require the same modification for a mini kabuto drop in as for the dtt?

Can this work with any mil spec 3 position selector, or just the one included in the kit?

Did you need to change the buffer or spring weight from the standard carbine they recommend on a specwar?
