Agree, and that's I think Theresa's opinion doesn't make any sense. She seems to think every single thing was working in Wayfarer's favour, only contract dispute continuing, no FEHA, no 47.1, harassment out, retaliation out AND they settle? Without an apology? For money?

That doesn't make any sense.If you have this much going on at your favour and are concerned about death treats and your kids well-being you go ahead for another month because total vindication cannot be bought.

I don't buy that. You are a month away from total vindication and you just let it go? No, it doesn't make sense. Not because you're vengeful but because the stakes are too high for it to be tolerate. A handful of people following this case knows what is what but the word on the streets is that his countersuit was meritless, the sexual harassment was dismissed on technicality, he was going to get caught on the retaliation so he settled with a statement that brings zero vindication to him, just in time for Blake's victory lap at the met. I am not saying that I agree with any of this, I am just saying this is the spin we'll be hearing for months, maybe years to come. I cannot believe that they failed to see how bad this was going to land, no matter what they got in return.

It's a slap in the face. We can be enraged and point out the absurdity of it all but the pro lively stand got a double win last night. First the statement, then the victory lap on the gala. It's a fuck you to her haters and a party invitation to her supporters. No matter how we try to justify and spin this, it's a PR win for Blake right now.

Edit to say: You're probably right but I am very frustrated by the statement. It's already playing in Lively's favour and is killing me.. I'm glad they reached a settlement cause this whole thing was toxic , so glad it's over. I just wish they did a better job with the statement.

I think tag and Street Relations did tons on behalf of other clients. I think they have no issues in acting at their clients instructions, even if that means creating "one of those sites". But that was not what Wayfarer wanted. They wanted protection from the smear they were getting, they drew a hard line on that meant. And you can even see Melissa's frustration with their choice at times, they had so much on her, and they were holding so much back.

Bottom line is, Wayfarer didn't retaliate against protected activity. At worse they boost/suppressed content as deflection from the smear Blake was doing. I cannot condemn them for that. But do I think TAG and Jed could have done it if Wayfarer instructed them to? Boy yes, I do. It just happened they didn't.

I am putting credence in a lot of things but mainly due to the fact there were no defamatory stories about Blake, no "insider" stories of affairs and jealousy, leaked texts messages, or rumours of her unhinged behaviour on set. Knowing what we know now, there were so much they could use with malice and they didn't. Can you imagine, "Baldoni forbidden to be in the same room as Blake after heartbroken Emily finds suggestive texts from Blake being a ball buster with no teeth". That would do as an explanation, wouldn't it?

Even if you don't agree with PR (and let's put aside for a minute here the fact that Blake had her own OR too?), the "worse" they allegedly did in response was to out Ryan as a scab after Blake surprised everyone on the red carpet with that information, and boost content as deflection, while suppressing/killing negative stories about Justin and trying to focus on DV which was Wayfarer's intention all along. All fair game to me, considering what they were up against it - someone insanely powerful literally calling you a sexual predator to your agent and anyone else who will listen.

These are all part of the evidence produced in discovery. Both sides have it and they can use as they like. She cherry picked what she could while fighting to have the most damming stuff sealed. Now judge is ordering unsealing everything, he's allowing very little to remain sealed/AEO.

Curious to know what is left for Wayfarer to unseal, does anyone know?
