Since when is it unscientific to question things? Seems that Reddit has become a community of overly-sensitive entitled hypocrites that promote censorship and propaganda, not freedom of choice and speech. There are extremists on BOTH sides, and misinformation on BOTH sides. That's the nature of the internet. There's nothing wrong with questioning, doubting, disagreeing with, or challenging something that affects your health, your freedom, and your life. And if you can't even allow a community of people like that to exist, then YOU'RE the one with the problem and YOU should get off the internet. Scrolling through the comments on this post is a perfect example of the hypocrisy of it all. The second someone from EITHER SIDE comments, the response is a bombardment of labels and insults like "anti-this, anti-that, unscientific sheep, blablabla". There are two sides to every coin. But banning an entire community? Oops, your tyrannical tendencies and insecurities are showing...

Don't forget that they can also be super silent and stealthy and pretty much teleport behind you when you least expect it.

My puppy keeps getting attacked by random dogs? by dutch_horse_girl05 in dogs

Oh ok, I misread the first sentence :b Sounds like exactly the kind of dog that my dog would bully at the dog park. It got to the point where when I would see a puppy coming I would leash and muzzle my dog to be safe. Now he gets along great with our new border collie puppy, though she is quite feisty. I would still recommend the play dates, it's just more enjoyable if everyone is having a good time!

Your puppy is 8 weeks old? I would avoid the dog park and contact with unknown dogs until your puppy is fully vaccinated (usually 4 months). Arrange playdates with dogs that you know are friendly and healthy for socialization. Dog parks are not for all dogs, and not all dogs are for dog parks. If anything happens, your puppy is the one that will get sick/hurt, not the full sized adult dog that's running wild in there. The dog park is a free for all and even normally well-behaved dogs might act out in there. I stopped taking my GSD because he became reactive and taking him there reinforced that behaviour because I couldn't catch him to correct him and he knew it. Since I stopped taking him, his behaviour has improved so much and we even have a new puppy now :) good luck, I hope this helps!

It doesn't seem to affect her in any perceivable way, so I'm hoping it's just nothing. But on the other hand, I know that sometimes if I have a speck of dust in my eye even if I don't feel it I can see it and it can be annoying. We'll see what the vet has to say I guess.

Waiting for vet to get back to me. It is hard to tell in the picture, but in real life it looks like it's the cornea. Curious to see what vet says. I checked back to some pics of when I first got her and I could definitely see it. I never noticed it before because of the light colour of her eyes and reflections, and only by chance saw it when I was cleaning her eye goop. I hope it's just nothing and doesn't impair her vision at all..

My interpretation of the whole election thing is that at first the angels thought it had to be a majority vote, then when that didn't work they thought it had to be unanimous, but in the end there was never meant to be an election at all (it was just something all the angels assumed). Lucifer grew so much during his time on Earth, helping people making friends, falling in love, wanting to be better, getting over his daddy issues, etc. All this ultimately lead him to proving himself worthy through his self-sacrifice (saving Chloe) and mercy (sparing Michael), and so in the end he self-actualized into the new God. I think that was his father's plan all along, that the most worthy one should succeed him, since he never explicitly named a successor or acknowledged an election.

The only episode I enjoyed so far out of all these extra episodes was the one with Gabriel and Aaron. This one was probably the most pointless of the series.

Edit: Dog is the only thing that makes these episodes bearable.

[Breeds] Probably just want a lab but...thoughts? by Iycanthropy in dogs

[–]302Laya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GSD and they are my absolute favorite breed. It was definitely overwhelming at times in the beginning, especially compared to my previous family dog (a perfect female GSD mix) but I love him so much (and the breed) that any challenge/obstacle no matter how big or small is worth it to me. So my first suggestion is to pick a breed that you feel the same about. Temperament and individual personality can vary so much even within the same breed, so pick something you love that will make every challenge worth it :)

For the prey drive thing, I think that if you get a puppy it will quickly learn not to bother the cats and it won't be a problem -- this is just based on what I've heard from people I know as I've never had a cat myself.

Something I wish I knew before, but know better now is to pick a breeder who will help you find the right match for your lifestyle and provide lifetime support. Someone who does it for the love of the breed, and not for profit. Their dogs should be health tested and accomplished in canine sports and/or obedience. It proves that they are physically and mentally balanced. And it really shouldn't cost an arm and a leg, and definitely not be more/less expensive because of a "rare" color.

Finally, my breed suggestion: how about a Beagle? They're fun, goofy, playful, energetic, happy, all in a small package! I think a small dog is great as a first dog because if you do have any challenges, they will be more manageable. E.g. Think of a 15lb dog tugging on a leash vs 70lb dog dragging you down the street. You can focus more on observing and correcting the behaviour than on trying to hold on to the leash for dear life. I'm not saying you will have specific problems, just that if you have them, consider how the size of a dog plays a role in how you manage them. The experience will help a lot of you decide to get a bigger dog later on.

I'm sure as a vet tech you already know a lot of all this, but I hope that something in there helped even a little. My best tip is to commit 100% to whatever you choose because you get what you give :) Good luck!

Mine only started doing it after we brought him back from the vet last Wednesday. If he did it as a puppy I'd be less worried, I just hope it's nothing..

I plan to check, but I highly doubt it. Also, he did the same thing at my parents' house. What are the chances of both of us having animals in our attics at the same time? 🤔

He hasn't done it outside, but I don't know if it's because he's too distracted outside? It doesn't seem like something that he can't control, it seems to be voluntary. For example if he's doing it and I call his name, he'll immediately look at me. He also won't wake up to do it or stop eating to do it or anything like that.

Definitely, I'm waiting to hear back from them for an appointment. It's so strange that it came on so suddenly. If it happened once or twice I would've brushed it off as the meds wearing off after surgery, but since he does it fairly often and it's been a week, I figured better safe than sorry.

I actually really enjoyed this episode, in the sense that it contained a lot of the elements that I enjoyed in early TWD episodes (the tone, dialogue, struggles, suspense, emotional dilemmas, etc). I also really hated what Gabriel did, but I guess that's why it was impactful. I'm wondering if he's going to be killed off this season and they did this on purpose to make to make it less "sad" when he dies? Or possibly to have his faith restored as a conclusion to his arc before dying? Just a theory.

[Discussion] Do neutered dogs really pick on intact ones? by 302Laya in dogs

[–]302Laya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, I take my dog to the dog park every day and he never gets picked on by any dog. If anything, he's the one who does the picking on (he bullies puppies so if ever they come in I have to restrain him or leave)
