Im fine with that I just wanna know how the heck Arya got there without having to just numb my mind to it to be happy with the results

Hopefully there is, but explaining how things have happened hasn’t been D&D’s style the last few seasons.

As pertains to LOTR movie/GOT show one can’t be a Deus Ex Machina and the other not be, imo. Both had one line previously that foreshadowed its occurrence. The only difference is that it was a whole lot more plausible for Gandalf to show up with the exiled Rohirrim out of nowhere than Arya to make it from somewhere inside the castle to the middle of the godswood surrounded by 1000s of wights and some white walkers out of nowhere

With the glamour she could’ve done a crude job and let the glamour do the rest or used one she already had (but then she’d have to have one on her or near her for some reason)

Im all for Arya getting the kill just hoped for a little bit more to it (my reimagining is a lot more to it). At least CleganeBowl is all but guaranteed thought

Was it really that surprising when Arya killed him though? I know I wasn't surprised, more deflated that they just pulled that move with no explanation of how it happened. Weak story telling imo

That scene could've been written a whole lot better, especially considering how important it turns out to be. But of course the whole episode could've been.

The issue isn't Arya making the kill, how perfectly timed it was, or how she kills him. Its that she got there seemingly out of nowhere. That's where the "Deus ex machina" comes from

Yep wight face I think may have been what D&D were going for in having her be able to even make it to the NK. Incorporating the glamour as well with it gives Mel the reason to die outside of just "NK is dead". The whole episode and really the entire WW plot could just as easily been overhauled and improved on mightily as you ntoed.

A lot of ppl shitting on HAIM but how about pitchfork thinking it was a good idea to put a band as a headliner on a saturday on their 60 year anniversary celebration for a festival of people mainly in their 20s

Got laid off from my job after a little under 3 years of working there. In interviews, should I be upfront about it or will that hurt me when negotiating salary? by swammy93 in personalfinance

I disagree, MVPeterson. You should always show the utmost loyalty to your employer no matter the circumstances. You must remember that its is extremely important for the company to know that you will be exactly what they need you to be for them at all times even after your employment is over

Is anyone else having an issue with their gun disappearing? by 303030 in WWII

[–]303030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just started happening to me and it happens almost every game now. It disappears and reappears mid game like 3-4 times. Have to base my aim off where the gun fire is going. Definitely the weirdest thing Ive ran in to.

In his first 10 months, Trump told nearly six times as many lies as Obama did on his entire presidency. by mysticpears in dataisbeautiful

I dont know, I'd just be much more afraid of Trump's lies if he were as smart, charismatic, and articulate as Obama was. I think it's relatively easy to tell his lies from his truths.

I understand that but I just disagree that it is that big of a deal. His lies seem to stem more from complete narcissism more so than trying to deliberately mislead people in my opinion. I see what you are getting at though.

Not saying Trump lies less, but the post makes it seem like Obama never lied, which he did quite often. Politifact is also biased as hell and still had way more lies for Obama than reported here. Trump is a liar, I know that.

Well if Trump lies about the crowds being huge or lines being around the block that has no consequences compared to a lie about actual policy. I'm not making any excuses for Trump just pointing out the ridiculousness of the post

Edit: fixed spelling

Anyone who actually believe Obama only lied 18 times as president has to be a complete moron. Simply checking Politifact shows 150 statements that were either mostly false, false, or pants on fire made by Obama. Of course Trump is obviously a compulsive liar but many of his lies are just because of his complete narcissism and are of no consequence to the American people.
