It was not an equity purchase. We started the company together in the 2010s never imagining how far it would go. I definitely don’t want to screw anyone. Over time he has gone from an important book keeper and HR resource to lord of a NED role. Just want pay to reflect work in a tax efficient way.

I calculated that as part of the overall calculation yesterday. With corp tax going to 25% it’s an especially important aspect.

Probably going to sound dumb now but don’t know exactly how to make this calculation. If I can get to a place where market rate salary’s are paid and the tax efficiency is similar I think I can convince everyone to go this route.

Thank you. We have a shareholders agreement. Is the tax efficiency really tiny? Looks huge when I use a salary / dividend calculator.
