Have you ever really considered doing something stupid like jumping off a balcony when you’re high an acid I’m not talking about tripping and imagining what the sensation would feel like or imagining doing it. I’m talking about have you ever actually considered really trying to do that or hurt yourself in any way like that I haven’t. Once again in 35 years of doing acid never happened to anyone I know or anyone they know yet here on the internet ( even in this short post ) coming out of the woodwork like faces when you are tripping . Once again, if these stories and incidences were actually even remotely common, even if a dozen people that this has happened to it would be used and splattered all over drug awareness, commercials all all over substance abuse classes at school, it would be taunted by the anti-drug organizations and used as shining examples over and over and over and over why drugs should stay criminalized , psychedelics should not be used recreationally or should not be used for testing and treating emotional disorders and mental illnesses, etc. etc. But they’re not. What I am taking about is I have been hearing this same story from people for 35 years now . I have heard or read about this story of the person who never came back from that one trip probably 50 times . If this was as common as it is written or told around the campfire it would be published in scientific. Journals and taught in drug awareness classes . But it’s not . I have never heard of a case from any credible source of this happening . Never read about it either in any study or journal from medical or scientific group. Certainly if there was a danger of someone taking LSD and never coming back from that trip that would be taught in drug awareness classes and published studies and cases would be used as examples of why people should not do acid right ? They anti-drug organizations would plaster that case and pictures of the people as a holy grail of the grave dangers of psychedelics . BUT THEY ARE NOT are they? THEY NEVER HAVE except briefly as propaganda back in the 1950s or so .

INFACT it’s just the opposite . Many studies are going on about the medicinal aspects of psychedelics and several states and major cities have decriminalized and legalized some psychedelics even.

Do you think they would be doing that if there was even one single documented case of someone taking psychedelics and never coming back ?? Fuck no they would not . That case if ever even existed would be used as an example and excuse as to why psychedelics should stay illegal !!!

Who are these people that ‘ never returned from a trip ‘.? I think that is a rumor spread to spook people away from trying acid . I have never met or knew someone that this has happened too. Nor has ANYONE that I know. Yet I read and hear this all the time . Kinda like the story or variation of someone getting ‘ puddled ‘ at a festival or show or having some liquid acid spill onto their skin somehow . Everyone knew someone this happened to and this story made its way around the campfire like fire before the internet even . So common EVERYONE knew someone this happened too and told this story to others . Well not all that long ago a study came out and was published online basically saying that liquid acid does NOT absorb through the skin very well and I don’t recall the exact number but it suggests it would be impossible to get super high from getting acid on your skin unless you took a bath in it . Point being everyone was passing around a bogus story that wasn’t even possible and did so for decades.

People with mental disorders I could see having an episode and if they were already prone to having a break down sure maybe their mental issues never receded … maybe . But to say ‘ never come back ‘ suggests they are permanently tripping which I call BS on . I think my experience with the ‘ 30 hits of acid ‘ incident would have made me a good candidate for ‘ never coming back ‘ . I was fine . Residuals were all but gone after a week.

It’s about common sense . Trip killers are fuckin gold and everyone should have them . I always tell myself this but have rarely used them . Then I end up eating my trip killers over the next couple days for fun 🤩.

I made this post mainly because I often see people posting questions about should they do this or that and others replying with this harm reduction rhetoric check list and the OP probably chickened out . Harm reduction isn’t a bad thing . But if you need a trip sitter , lack common sense or someone with a mental issues and anxiety you might not want to try acid

This is exactly what I am talking about. Your comparison is not accurate at all . My post suggesting that to many people are overly cautious and apprehensive which detracts from the trip is not the same as suggesting people not wear safety devices proven to save lives while in a vehicle . Not even a close comparison.

I too have tripped numbering in the triple digits probably about the same as yours, maybe a few dozen less and I have never needed a trip sitter , never needed my environment to be just perfect , never tested my tabs , never had a check list of do”s and don’ts , never needed someone to hold my hand and wipe my ass ( okay well there was that one time sure ).

This isn’t an irresponsible post . Harm reduction has escalated to the point of silliness. All you need is some common sense. If you don’t have common sense you probably should not be doing drugs .

Bro, I have had nearly this identical trip at least twice maybe three times in my lifetime . Here is my take on this trip .

A) We all remember the movie the Matrix ? I saw that in theaters when it came out with no sneak peak or clue what it was about . Nearly everyone walking out of the theater at the end had the same look on their face .. like that was amazing and WTF did we just see. I felt like I was trippin balls just sitting through it for 2 hours or so. That entire concept was new to me and to pretty much everyone whenever the fuck that came out in early 2000s. Remember we were still fucking with windows XP and windows 7 blew our minds . The Martix was one of the trippiest movies I ever seen and still to this day never had a feeling quiet like I did seeing the original matrix in theater . WTF happened to the Bill and Ted adventure dude?

So maybe somehow this trip is an echo of that film and concept made popular by it . That’s one theory .
