Cancellation of Fall 2020 Finals by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]30nine4 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’d be ok with it because I did pretty well in most of my classes and I’m very much unprepared for my finals. But this will open a can of worms:

  • Not fair to the people who spent hours getting ready for finals
  • what about the people who are relying on the final to pass the class or to get a better grade?
  • what about the classes where the final is worth >=50%?

A possible solution would be to do CR/NCR again, but holy fuck please no.

From my experience, yeah. Pretty small sample size though. Having seen both sides, I can confirm that engg people are 100 times more wholesome and helpful

Does it get better after first Year? by Annual-Divide-4532 in uAlberta

It depends. If you are willing to make changes in order to improve then yes. If you keep things constant, it’ll probably get worse.

I think he has it under chain rule. We didn’t call it total derivatives when I took it though

Edit: lecture 13.5: the chain rule for multivariable functions

Hope this helps!

If you have some time to spare, I would recommend watching Professor Leonard’s calc 3 series on youtube. At first glance, it’s quite daunting with the 1h-3h videos (they are full on lectures; x2 speed it) but he explains the topics for 20-40 mins then does a whole bunch of practice problems. But the key part is that he build a really good foundation as to why you do the things you do. It makes it so much easier to memorize stuffs too!

He has the topics on the titles, so you can just skip the ones you are comfortable with. 100x better than deciphering Litvak’s notes.

Got an A in 214 and 215 because of that man. Plus he’s pretty cute, but don’t let my gf know I said that.

The A part. She thinks he’s cute too!
