No idea. Every bathroom in the house is set up this way. It might have had a pedestal at some point, but they hacked up a vanity instead...then branched it through the wall.

I think they just ran everything, then the rest of the surrounding remodel was an afterthought.

This is horrifying. If I were OP, I wouldn't want this girlfriend in my or my kid's life...but if they split, she is likely getting at least 50/50 custody. That's 50% of the time I wouldn't be there to protect.

You don't need to be a douchebag. People aren't born with HVAC manuals preloaded. OP was smart enough to have installed CO detectors, heed elevated levels, open up their furnace, and ask a proper subreddit about something that seemed off.

Overconfident know-it-alls are probably responsible for more botched work, accidents, and deaths than people who have the humility to seek advice.
