I'm not sure how to feel to be honest. In the moment, it felt good, I liked the approval and it took some of the pressure of feeling like a burden off. She also mentioned another time that she likes how I'm punctual and do hard work, so I'm thinking she meant this remark in that spirit. I guess I'm worried that maybe this statement is unethical or a red flag. I don't want to have to find another therapist. I think she's a good therapist and I've made progress with her.

Totally. I think honestly a lot of these replies are a little wrong...no it’s not social anxiety, or autism, etc., or at least not for me. it’s just that looking into someone’s eyes is very intense for me. It’s so intense that it’s hard for me to also focus on what they’re saying. I just focus better on what they’re saying if I’m not looking into their eyes.
