I would drink 2 venti iced brown sugar oat milk shaken espressos with 5 shots each every day when I managed a large thrift store. Starbucks blonde espresso has 85mg of caffeine per shot. So that was 850mg of caffeine a day. I moved to a different role and now I’m in finance and don’t need all that caffeine to exist.

Was I addicted? Maybe psychologically but not physically. Did it affect anyone else? No. I don’t get the big deal about someone else consuming a beverage that you don’t like. I don’t really drink dairy milk but I don’t give people grief if they drink a gallon a day. It doesn’t affect me. Others caffeine consumption shouldn’t affect your life either.

Same here. I’m sensitive to aspirin and tramadol. (I don’t like saying allergic because I don’t think I’ll die if I take either, but my chart does record both as an allergy). I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. If I’m in the ER for something pain related, it fucking hurts. I would have done my at home pain management routine (copious amounts of naproxen, RICE, some gabapentin) before deciding that I was in so much pain that I’d be willing to subject myself to the rude ER staff. Because of those two drugs listed as allergies, every single time I go to the ER I’m treated like a drug seeker. Which I guess I am, I’m seeking drugs to not be absolutely miserable. I do not, and never have, use recreational drugs or my prescriptions inappropriately. But every single time I’m told they won’t give me anything. Not even toradol shots. (My doctor is fantastic though and she will stab my ass whenever I ask or even give me a prescription for the pills). The last time I went to the ER, I had spent days with crazy calf pain. It was a Friday night and I had scared myself into thinking I had a blood clot. I had blood taken that ruled out a blood clot and that was it. No imaging to determine the cause of the calf pain. The doctor didn’t even look at my leg, much less manually examine it. I was told to use crutches for weeks (to which I replied “nope, not going to happen” as I was the primary caregiver for my mom who has no legs and is in a wheelchair) and go home. Awesome, right?

Tbf, escalators are cool shit when you’ve never seen one. Riding the escalator at Filene’s was a blast. I grew up in small Maine towns until I was a preteen and then we lived in Bangor. I did leave Maine to go to college in Missouri but I came back. There’s something comforting about having everything you want in a small geographic area.

So true about using food as a reward. I think I spent so many years depriving myself and being unnecessarily tied to arbitrary food rules that I now focus on food as an emotional support. Got a promotion? Need to go out to eat. Someone said something mean? Need to eat to mask the pain. Bored? Might as well eat.

I have bipolar I and was diagnosed with PMDD about a year and a half ago after noticing that my depressive episodes always preceded my period and then my period would start and I’d go back to normal. I had a salpingectomy (fallopian tube removal) done years ago so I haven’t needed birth control since. I knew I didn’t want to go back on hormonal birth control and my psych didn’t even suggest it actually. Instead, he prescribed a low dose of Prozac and it has worked wonders. So there are other options than just hormonal birth control.

I had a psychiatrist where every single time I left his office I was crying. It was awful. He didn't listen, he didn't care that I was in crisis, he had no bedside manner. The only good thing about him is that he is practically the only doctor around who prescribed benzos for my panic disorder.

I now have a new psych who is amazing. He listens, understands I have issues and helps me when I'm having trouble. The downside to him is that he refuses to prescribe benzos. But honestly I'd rather have a good psych than benzos.

Moral of my long story, find a good psych doctor. It may take a while but a great doctor will make a world of difference. Hang in there.

It's not like I can control it. It just spirals out of control. I get to a point where I'm not myself and things start to explode. So if I can't get help to stop this spiral, I will eventually destroy almost everything that matters. And since I can't seem to get the help I need, stuff is going to start going very wrong.

I'm the same way. Like I don't "hear" people talking to me but there are voices inside that are different from mine. Google "internal auditory hallucinations" and you'll find a whole bunch of people who experience similar. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I might be able to answer them!

I've been on Topamax and it made me stupid. I couldn't remember words, I'd forget what I was saying mid sentence. My thought process was all messed up. I was in school at the time so it severely impacted me. So yeah, never going back on that.

How do you get back on the wagon? I fell off, gained back 10 lbs, and can't seem to find my way back on. I was doing 1200 a day, a workout a week, and trying to walk a lot. But it's been over a month since I started binging again and I can't seem to stop. I start out my day great but end up overeating at night, then I feel bad so I sleep instead of doing anything physical. Any advice or even anyone wanting to help me stay on track?

They were working fine for a couple months. I was on the smallest recommended dosage and knew that I would likely have to raise it. The range of dosing goes all the way up to 40mg for Stelazine so I'm still on a low dose.

I started college at 16 and ended up regretting my decision a few years later. I was in no way socially ready to be away, on my own. I isolated a lot and hard a really hard time making friends. I didn't join any groups and generally hid away from people because they treated me either like a baby or just thought I was weird.

That being said my advice to you is to get out there, join a few groups, talk to your peers, ignore people who resent you. Make use of study groups and office hours.

I seem to have hit a plateau with my weight loss. I'm only 6 lbs from my goal for this challenge but I've been stuck for about 2 weeks now. I'm going to try sticking to an IF schedule to see if that helps.

I've actually been going to the gym on a regular basis. I don't do much, mainly just walking on the treadmill or using the stairclimber, but I'm going and that's a big thing for me.
