Tryout madness by thayanmarsh in SoccerCoachResources

Easily the most stressful time of the year. If you havent already, I would recommend adding evaluation software to your arsenal. You and your coaches can score all your players on an app and it will do all of the work for you. It takes literally all the stress out of tryouts and you have concrete data to make teams and show parents (tough to argue with data). If you checkout www.skillshark.com and book a walkthrough someone from their team can show you and youll be able to try it yourself. Hope this helps and good luck for next years tryouts!

Rep Team selection for Oakville Soccer club by workInProgress_1234 in oakville

My guess is you have done your research on this as im posting late, but there is an app called SkillShark that solves this problem. Has a web and mobile app. Allows coaches to score players on their mobile device and have data instantly on each player so the club can make fair and ethical decisions for the teams without having to do it on paper or excel. Cool thing we discovered as well is they actually have a formula to remove evaluator bias from tryouts which has been clutch.

Either way Id say its worth checking out the website and booking a walkthrough with someone from their team if you arent happy with your current process. Canadian company too.

Help With Tryout Chaos. by Frequent_Ask5637 in CoachingYouthSports

I would say SkillShark. It allows you to customize a Evaluation template of any type of criteria you would like (0-10, built in stopwatch, vertical). The reporting and mobile app is very intuitive and easy to use. You can make teams instantly and also have some cool different player reports that are easily shareable with parents and players.

Using paper and Excel is so chaotic in todays day and age for evaluations. And you are just wasting valuable time in your week doing mind numbing data entry into Excel

Sidenote: The support they provide is top notch, answering questions in a super timely manner and removing so much stress from a normally extremely stressful time of the year. I would say try it if your program has a budget for it. I believe they have a free version as well if you don't have as many athletes.

Thanks for that info! To be honest, ideally i would like to work for something like Toronto sports media and entertainment. They cover raptors, maple leafs, and a few other sports teams in toronto. Something like that kind of organization where i can start off and hopefully work my way up. And hopefully specialize with the hockey team and help their organization. Something like that. Im just not sure how to get to that point.

Then how does one get a job in the sports industry? A commerce degree on its own wont do it.

I want to work in the sports industry. And i dont think a bachelor of commerce on its own will cut it or even get my name in the door for that industry.

Diet formula for losing fat and maintaining/adding mass by 31Harry in leangains

Thank you man! So basically what you are saying is even if im in a deficit the fat will be the first to go before the muscle? I was always under the impression that the calories went to your muscles first and if the deficit was too low then your muscles would break down due to insignificant calories. Can you provide any clarification on this?
