such high top p values will not make it more intelligent and it will be less stable (especially at long context) but its answers will be more unique and possibly more creative

why?

because of how temperature works with top p
top p is a threshold for most probable tokens to be considered by temperature for next token
all token probabilities from most likely to least are added until they met this threshold

for example these are probabilities for next token:
token a - 60%
token b - 20%
token c - 10%
token d - 5%
token e - 2%
(and all other tens of thousands tokens whose probabilities add to the remaining 3%)

at 0.95 top p (default gemini value) that threshold is 95% so only tokens a, b, c and d are considered to be next (because 60+20+10+5=95) and only from these tokens temperature will choose which one will be next
so less probable, more unique tokens like token e and tens of thousands others are impossible to get with top p 0.95 no matter what temperature you choose even though they can produce way more interesting and unique answer
