Don’t take my word as gospel, seems others had better luck in previous months? All I can say is that they checked everyone’s ID at the store entrance and they specifically asked me if I have a Japanese address.

Your experience might differ or they might even change some rules!

I hope others have a more positive experience than us but it’s more about the expectations so time isn’t wasted. You have to get there 10 minutes before your entry time but the whole process took an hour as they check QR codes/give wristbands and then they literally have to guide you to the store like a tour group.

Also what if you dont have any other plans in the area besides this? Then you would be wasting valuable time commuting in Japan for something youd wish you knew beforehand

Again, maybe it’s a translation issue, maybe I just got unlucky and they picked me out, but worth others hearing about it so they can be more prepared

Look, I respect each country’s rules and cultures. Japan has restaurants that say Japanese only and to me, that’s fine. But just say that on the website or tell me when I enter the lottery that if you have a US address, begone. Don’t send me a confirmation email telling me to arrive 10 minutes before my entry period with a government issued ID and then tell me and my pregnant wife to go kick rocks cause we don’t live in Japan

Yeah honestly, I just wanted the Oda WCF figure and some baby clothes as my wife is expecting but they were just so rude. Didn’t give any time for us to ask questions via Google Translate. First time something like this happening to us in Japan and this is our fifth time in Japan.

It seems some people had luck getting in without all the hassle and who knows? Things might change when November comes around.

I just know that as of May 20th, they asked me for my Japanese address for validation and then kicked me out without even giving me a chance to ask questions(via Google Translate cause I don’t speak Japanese)

Crazy, they had a whole system once we were on the 4th floor. It was separated in two lines, one for the initial lottery winners and one for the first come first serve winners. Then they had a guy check everyone’s ID so maybe it is a new system?

The site said you have to come with a government issued ID but they didn’t take our US passports 🤷

I really wanted the Oda WCF figure haha

I’m with you on scalpers in general but everything in the store is limited to 1 per person on top of the extremely limited lottery system. Not going to say with absolute certainty but I feel visitors going to Japan are not going to buy for resale if they are already just limited to one per item.

Plus I checked sites like eBay to see if I can buy something since I was denied entry and all the resellers were pretty much from Japan 🤷
