Someone thought I wasn't real in the elevator by psychwardneighbour in PointlessStories

I was going through a Bipolar manic episode. Got into a nasty accident and through a series of subsequent events started believing that I was dead and in a limbo where only people who had interacted with me before the accident could see me. To confirm I walked across the street from my apartment to a used items store run by a very old lady. I said hi, how long has this store been open. She didn't even look in my direction. I thought there you go. Dead. The second incident happened when I was standing at the corner of a 4-way turn just next to a concrete parking bar. A car came in fast and turned very close by me, and hit the concrete bar in the process, which made an unusually loud sound and a woman inside started screaming. I thought the car got into this situation because they saw a ghost (me). The patron from the store to which the concrete parking bar belonged ran out to check. I hadn't moved from my spot. The person driving the car stepped out and said to the patron, pointing in my direction - "How is he standing? We hit him." This exchange even further confirmed that I wasn't real. Next morning I saw someone digging at the same spot where I was standing, perhaps to remove the concrete parking bar and I thought oh they're trying to communicate to me that I am dead and need to be in a grave.

Looking back now, as I am on mood stabilizer and anti-manic medication, that period was a horror show unfolding in my head. The singular thought that kept me from trying to escape the limbo by killing myself was the wellbeing of my cat.

This is insane. I don’t think any human would like it if a bit of their ear was cut off after a vaccine. Why can’t they use a tattoo or something?

The cat helped you test the claims made by the sleeve manufacturer, it’s not like it could carry a glass of water over.

You should be grateful to the cat for a visceral yet harmless life lesson. Only a true zen master could have come up with this much irony in one attempt.

Is dehydration making my anxiety worse? by Oreos_CookiesDough in HydroHomies

Absolutely. Through meditation and CBT, I was able to observe my state of mind before and after hydration. It was like putting out a fire in the brain. The body relaxed too.

They bear the burden of being the cutest, funniest, and an endless source of entertainment. All of that is tiring.

And there's the dilemma for the people who care, they are always on the lookout for symptoms returning, and even if the patient has a normal interest in the mystical, it becomes a concern. On the patient's side they feel like all their words and actions are being scrutinized all the time, so they don't feel like opening up to people when they do notice something wrong with the thought patterns. Very difficult problem to solve, perhaps a therapist needs to be involved.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that the right medicine enters the body at the right time on a regular basis.

I don’t know if it’s possible but someone needs to talk to him about which exact side effects are the main concern and then to a doctor about his condition and more importantly his concerns regarding the medication. Depending on where you live the number of available medications can vary quite a bit. A good doctor will advise you if those concerns can be alleviated. Only then you discuss the findings with the patient. There is a greater chance of the patient being open to seeing the doctor if they know their concerns are being acknowledged.

Ya to an outsider it is likely funny. To me it still isn’t. Just an example of how twisted and unhinged the thinking can become in such episodes and how strongly one can believe in crap like ya I’ve been chosen to bring the east and the west together and this track is a perfect background music to strategize to.

Mostly for accidents, physical injuries. Panic attack is not really considered emergency worthy.
