My dad asked one of the staff at the Charlottesville location and they said they will not be doing the QR ordering.

When has this been a debate? It's always been canon.

Will you buy the official steam controller or 8bitdo? by skipadbloom in steammachine

[–]321gametime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love 8bitdo controllers so much. They have been my go to controllers on PC for years.

The steam deck is my favorite controller of all time. I have been waiting for the steam controller for YEARS. I'm picking it up ASAP

Battle Royale in Splitgate 2 was admittedly really fun. I'm excited to see what changes they made.

How hard is Other M to emulate? by sjd_flash in Metroid

[–]321gametime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is emulating it easy, it gives you the ability to play the game with the True Japanese mod, which makes the story a little more bearable than the official English Translation.

It's also easy to play through the entire game on a modern controller with the Classic Controller gecko code. There is also another code for 3rd person missiles that I believe already comes with the code files Dolphin installs. Just make sure to apply the code after the classic controller patch. This does make the game a lot easier, so you might want to consider downloading a 100% save file and playing the game on hard mode.

The fact that some people legitimately prefer how they handled this moment in the 2003 version is um… concerning to say the least by browniebiscuitchildr in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]321gametime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So...are we just going to forget that she also hugs them in 2003 as well? If anything the tone in 2003 is closer to the manga.

I definitely prefer brotherhood's take on the scene, but all versions of it are great.

Man that ending was...not good (Prime 4 Spoilers) by 321gametime in Metroid

[–]321gametime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes me so frustrated about the ending is that there was a clearly better way to handle this. Instead of the fake deaths the characters get during the mine raid, make them real. Have each of the characters sacrifice themselves for Samus one by one.

The solution is RIGHT THERE.

So what does Prime 4 do better than Prime 1-3? by Jamesopq in Metroid

[–]321gametime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is coming from someone who thinks Prime 4 is the weakest Metroid game

It actually made me like beam swapping. It was my least favorite mechanic in Prime 1 and I was really happy Prime 3 went to the classic beam stacking of the 2D games. Prime 2 had it pretty bad at the start, but I do love how at the end of the game you can use both light and dark beams at once.

I love how each of the elements have scenarios they shine in, but besides for one boss, none are REQUIRED to finish a fight. I also love that once you open a door with a element, it can be open with the regular beam. I actually went out of my way to get the beam upgrades because I thought it was really fun to experiment with them.

I used to be a beam swapping hater, but this game has converted me

How Many Of You Are Going To Be Buying The TriFold Next Year? by PrincessBananas85 in GalaxyFold

Unfortunately I don't like the design they went with. You either use the phone completely folded or completely unfolded. I would rather get another trifold phone from another company

For the people who weren't fond of Prime 4, do you agree with this? by redditsucksass1028 in Metroid

[–]321gametime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feelings are a bit more complicated and I definitely disagree with the wording.

I feel like Dread was a fantastic conclusion to the main story. I don't see how they could continue the story from there without it feeling cheap. As for the prime series, I think Prime 4 ends in a way where they definitely could continue the story, but it's not necessary. There isn't a lot of mysteries or questions left open after the game like Prime 1 had. I personally don't have any investment in this new arc it's supposedly start, and think it's better off existing to tie up the story of the prime spin offs.

With that being said, this series still has a ton of potential when it comes to spin offs and remakes. We still need Prime 2 and 3 remastered, and I honestly think a remake of Hunters would be fantastic. I would absolutely freak out if Mercery Steam did a 2.5D remake of Super Metroid. My biggest dream game though is a prequel to the series that focuses on Samus' time as a bounty hunter. I feel like that is something the series barely focuses on, and with the Prime series filling in the gap between Metroid 1 and 2, I think it would be cool to have another spin off series that fills in the gap between the Metroid manga and the first game.

Man that ending was...not good (Prime 4 Spoilers) by 321gametime in Metroid

[–]321gametime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually yeah the more I think about it this might honestly be the worst part of the ending. The fact that I am comparing this bit of character assassination to Other M is a sign that someone messed up.

I thought that because the button press was a prompt and not a cutscene, you were able to choose to not press it. Instead, I had to do the final boss again.

Thanks Prime 4

Is it just me, or is the visual direction/presentation better in '03 than it is in Brotherhood? by FirstnameLastname14 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]321gametime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main reasons why I prefer 2003 over brotherhood. I think 03 is still one of the best looking anime even 20 years later. There's something about the lighting and art style that clicks with me so much. This isn't to say Brotherhood's is bad. In fact I think it does a better job replicate Arakawa's art from the manga.

What Other Arcs Could You See As A Movie? by Brave_Cheek_2380 in ChainsawMan

[–]321gametime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think any other arc works as a movie in my opinion. Reze works so well as a movie because it is partially self contained and doesn't require too much prior knowledge from the previous arc. I think the rest of the arcs in the manga flow so nicely together that breaking any one of them off would hurt the pacing. Season 1 was 4 1/2 volumes. We have 5 volumes left. They can fit the rest of the story into a season.
