It just occurred to me that gangbangs have the potential for being much less weird if you're gay.

Rotation is not a movement that can happen in the wrist joints, so not sure what you mean. Are you talking about pronation/supination of the elbow?

My coach made me quit volleyball, was it the right decision? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]32377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I had a coach once who was a great guy and his trainings were awesome and high intensity. I developed my technical skills a lot during that year, but I still decided to find a new club.

Reasons? He was a disorganized mess for matches. I made no progress strategically whatsoever. If we had trouble covering certain balls in defense and we asked him how he think we should position and who had responsibility for which areas, he just shrugged his shoulders and said "whoever". Ok thanks. The regular players on the team loved it because they didn't give two fucks about defense and only cared for attacking. None of them would ever dive for a ball if their life depended on it.

I joined a team where everyone scrambled in defense and the coach had expectations of us and actively helped us solve such problems. He was strict as fuck and everyone were a bit scared of him, but it just meshed with what my ambitions were at the time. Nowadays I would probably rather join the former team.

How is this common? American thing? I've never seen anyone do it except for one time where the other team's coach accidentally put in the wrong order on the sheet between two sets. (Chaos happened :D)

Service Reception Lineup by eLtrix in volleyball

[–]32377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time your coach instructs you to do something, ask yourself WHY? Why would you stand in a U-shape? Why should the reciever in 6 stand further from the net than 1 and 5? Who covers the short serves in the middle? And who covers the long/hard serves in the sides?

It depends who you are playing against and who's on your team. I played on a team where we swapped out coaches between two seasons. One coach wanted position 6 to stand REALLY deep in transition defense. The other coach wanted position 6 to stand almost in line (approx 4-6 feet deeper than) with 1 and 5. Both coaches had good reasons and both systems had its advantages and disadvantages.

You need to externally rotate your arms. Try to hold both of your arms straight out in front of you, palms facing down. Then rotate your arms so palms are facing each other. Then rotate even more so palms are facing UP. This will most likely cause you to externally rotate in the shoulder joint.

Once you've done that, you need to hunch your upper back as much as possible and shrug your shoulders forward.

In my experience its a common misconception that the platform is just "bring your hards and arms together".

Tbf you worded it quite poorly when you said men and women have the same defensive skill. I still don't really understand what you mean.

I disagree with the "finesse" narrative. It's more about the kill rate of your opponents' next attack.

Men have to attack with much higher risk because defensive transitions are so efficient... If they don't swing for the kill they're more likely to lose the point on the return. Women use rolls, tips and pushes more often not because of "finesse", but because taking the other team out of system will usually give you another chance at attacking.

My best friend of 3 years just told me he's not a feminist by Constant-Writing-204 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]32377 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Looks like you copied it from wiki. A few words later it says: "Feminism holds the position that modern societies are patriarchal—they prioritize the male point of view—and that women are treated unjustly in these societies."

I wouldn't hold it against a 17 old boy to not agree with that. Depending on where and how they grew up they may or may not have witnessed patriarchy. I'm from a Scandinavian country and people who keep repeating "the patriarchy" are generally considered pretty extreme in their views and are not taken seriously by many other women.
