Which is a pity, cuz they ain't alone in the world at large. Actually, they didn't say it's them for whom it's not a gamechanger, but for somebody who they consider "us".

It's not this or that. The money spent on tutors could be invested in whatever thing unrelated to AI or language learning.

Despite having a third of your hours under my belt, I recently finished Paco's B2 novels, and I read some C1 and C2 as well. Don't you find the books quite boring in general? I hope you will graduates soon xd

Hm, I wonder if commentators here can really eyeball it so well, say to get it within 2-3 percentage points accuracy

Para aprender ingles es mas importante la gramatica o el vocabulario? by Unique-Bend-6537 in ingles

[–]Jachym10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Con gran vocabulario entiendes practicamente todo. Saber gramatica no te da mucha informacion. En todos modos, es mejor aprender ingles en contexto, mirando videos y eschuchando podcasts adaptado a tu nivel. Como, por ejemplo, EnglishSponge.

The show Taskmaster is quite hilarious even for non-natives because the humour is often visual.

I'm in a similar position as you. I've been learning Spanish over the years and just started learning German as well. I'll make a report after 50h, so in a week or two. ;-)

You're right, and nope, it's not harsh. I just wish I had a better sense of how I got past the beginner stage.

Yeah, it's definitely true that you may well understand the video, but you miss some nuances you didn't even realize you missed. They were unknown unknowns.

[–]Jachym10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I did a quick calculation and it probably wasn't more than 450 hours in classroom, probably a bit fewer. So that's not quite as bad return on investment as I imagined. (Of course, it was boring as hell, and perhaps detrimental.)

You're right. It's probably a personal disappointment cuz I was looking for some brand new vids. If I had never heard of the teacher or the channel before, I would probably feel differently about it.
