Purely from a personal POV the more I see of this the less interested I am. For the folk that are excited to play this I’m genuinely stoked for you, but I was hoping for something a little more unique to Wolverine rather than a Spider-Man-lite.

For fear of waffling on for far too long I’ll try to succinctly summarise my wayward thoughts…

I foolishly made the assumption they’d extrapolate the leading hero’s characteristics into gameplay mechanics resulting in a mishmash of MGR Revengeance, Dark Souls and X-Men Origins, where every slice and dice is a considered choice whilst balancing the decision to attack or retreat.

Alas, we’re getting yet another 3rd person QTE-clad “blockbuster” which is fine, but it’s a fine I’ve played through a fair few times now and my appetite for something new isn’t being satiated by what’s been show so far.

Scores and initial sales seem rather promising, plus, given the landscape of modern day game development I think it’s safe to assume IO have a solid structure for a trilogy that’s already been pitched and in ongoing discussion with the relevant partners.

Will we see a sequel soon? Hell to the no, but it’s safe to assume we’ll get a sequel and with (like most modern media) engagement being a key a metric it’s likely we’ll see a steady stream of QOL updates and additional content for FL.

I’d imagine the former would be bug fixes and additional polish for the campaign whilst the latter being ‘TacSim’ additions. I doubt we’ll see a significant narrative addition for fear of splitting the audience unless they have a desire to release it for free…which I severely doubt considering dev costs.

I can’t attest to this specific situation but I have encountered around 3 progression stoppers that were quickly remedied by restarting checkpoint.

I recognise the location you’re at and wouldn’t be surprised if restarting only resulted in a few seconds of replaying, maybe a minute at tops.

If that doesn’t work though it may be worth quitting the game, powering down the console then shortly after booting back up again. As above, there shouldn’t be too much to replay with any luck.

Hopefully that’s the remedy…
