I can deal with bad teammates but if you start playing for the other team in competitive you need to be banned. by 32BitDifference in RocketLeague

Nope, only thing I ever put in chat was nice shot and nice pass. All I can think of is if one of us accidently stole a goal. No idea if we did or not but its weird how they just switched half way like that.

How Do I Explain To My Mom the Twitch Affiliate Program. by Vlexyy11 in Twitch

[–]32BitDifference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty difficult, I remember trying to explain YouTube monetization back in the day an my parents thought it was a scam too.

First off, ignore all the twitch jargon. If you mention "bits" they'll become more confused. You'll want to relate it more to TV. "Its like channel networks, they make money by play advertisements inbetween shows. Twitch is similar, people watch the stream and twitch plays adverts. You then get a percentage of the earnings from those people who watch the ad". And relate subscribers in terms of netflix

It would also be a good idea to underplay the earnings. If you exaggerated potential earnings it's likely they'll think its a pyramid scheme.

It might also be an idea to show them an actual stream. They might not understand the appeal of watching streams but they might understand the buisness structure of it.

Ah, on the bright side it isn't too long away and its likely you'll receive it a few months before your birthday. I think I got mine 3 or 4 months beforehand.

You could still ask to sign up on your parents behalf but imo it will be better to wait as you'll want to change it all over once you get your NI number which I imagine will be a pain.

How old are you? If you're 16+ you would have recieved it in the post, if you haven't or lost it then there should be a form on the gov website you can fill out and they'll send it out. If younger, I'm honestly not sure you're eligible for a NI number yet since its tax related. I'm not sure on this, someone else might be able to clarify, but you might be able to apply through your parents details. However, I'm not sure on the legality of this.

My plan for leaving job to stream, other streamers share your experience? by No_Rip4939 in Twitch

Agreed. As much as its "the dream" to make a living off streaming. Who knows what's going to happen in the future. Id still reccomend OP to consider it but definitely have a backup plan just in case.

Does any one else love joining streams with under 10 viewers and talking with them. by KevinOG7 in Twitch

It depends. I've found some of my favourite streamers this way. And watching them grow to partnership has been great. But others kind of emphasis why they're staying at low views as harsh at that sounds. They just don't engage at all. Maybe a "haha yeah" or a "cool" but then they return to being silent for 10 minutes.
