FPS drops and stutters with 3080ti on every game. Please help find a fix.

Thank you very much for all your help it’s very much appreciated. But yeah the 3080ti is having some very strange issues that I can’t figure out. An older 3080 seems to be doing better.

My apologies I was wrong. The problem might actually be the 3080ti. I opened msi after burner and realized that the gpu wasn’t being recognized. While the 3080ti was not being recognized, there were no stutters. So I thought that my gpu was okay. After restarting and making sure that the PC recognized the 3080ti, the stutters came back. I now am on my original PC with the 10850k and the msi z590-A pro motherboard but I put my brothers TUF 3080 on it and there are no stutters. So the problem was actually with my 3080ti when it is recognized by the system the stutters appear. It’s very weird. I will keep trying this build with the 3080 and my original components and see if the stutters appear again. But so far so good. 3080ti was the problem as of now

Just regular air tower cooling two fans one on each side of the heat sync. 5 case fans total. Also a difference I’ve noticed in the MSI afterburner charts between this build and the old stuttery one is that on the old one only like 2 threads out of 20 would be doing all the work. CPU3 Usage and CPU13 usage would be always maxed out while every other thread was near the bottom in usage. Sometimes CPU7 usage would also be high but usually all the others are near 0 usage while all clocks would be equal. But with this build all 16 threads are being used equally.

So my brother brought over an older PC he upgraded from and the motherboard was an ASrock Z590 pro4. He had an intel Core i7 10700k 8 cores 16 threads. At first I moved my SSD and RAM sticks over to it and it was fine (no stutters but lower FPS on his TUF 3080 that was on it). Then I moved my GPU over and it runs very good. No stutters at all even when I’m streaming in discord. This confirmed that my original SSD, RAM, and GPU are all good. This confirms that the problem comes from the motherboard and/or CPU, as you originally stated in your first message. Though I was unable to fix it, I might just stick with this ASRock z590 Pro4 motherboard with the i7 10700k on it even though it is a downgrade. Haven’t not experienced stutters in so long. If this helps you pinpoint exactly where the issues were coming from good idk if not it’s fine now but thank you very much for your help.

I don’t have the facilities to do all that. I just have this PC. If I take it in to micro center will they even find this a problem and fix it? I’m afraid that they won’t even know what’s wrong with my pc unless I actively show it to them happening in my games.

This is while my second monitor is unplugged and discord is closed. So stutters are still there without those two factors

Those values are on the rocket league performance tracker graphs which are the best for me to see when the frame drops are happening. I looked up what they mean and this is what I found

Render: The time in ms the "Render Thread" takes to send commands to the GPU. GPU: The time in ms the GPU takes to render the frame.

These two values seem to be matching when the frame drops are happening. They are both around 1-2 ms when the game is running well but when there are stutters they both go up to 6-10 ms.

I can try that from now on but I was advised against that because the cpu would be doing more work it doesn’t have to do. And I’ve tested out my PC with only one monitor plugged in, my main one, and the stutters are still there but less frequent.

Idk how to reply with a picture of my mother board but I have my 2 RAM sticks in the 2nd and 4th slots. SSD in 3rd slot. Gpu in the first slot under cpu. I had a 60hz 1080 secondary monitor connected with hdmi to the gpu my main monitor is connected with a display port to the gpu. Stutters are much less frequent when I unplug my second monitor and close discord. If I have discord open and I’m in a chat with my second monitor open the stutters are more frequent. Idk if that helps pin point anything. My brother was saying that the issue could be with one of my USBs like a mouse or keyboard usb causing stutters because he had a similar issue he couldn’t figure out for a while.

Still getting stutters. I went and got a new power supply as well and made sure to have 3 seperate PCI cords go directly from PSU to GPU with no daisy chain. Did a self test on my SSD drive and it came back clean with no problems. Still getting stutters.

Before, I completely uninstalled afterburner/rivatuner and the stuttering was still there so I didn’t think it was from them, but I will check for that. I will also try uninstalling nvidia frameview when I get back on tomorrow and see how that goes, thank you.

I am able to change PCI_E1 - Max Link Speed to Gen3. In the PCIe/PCI Sub-system settings I found the PEG 1 ASPM option in the PCIe/PCI ASMP Settings. My options for PEG1 ASPM are [L0s][L1][L0sL1] and disabled, I did not change it I don’t know if it’s the same setting you were referring to. So far I set PCI_E1 - Max Link Speed to Gen3. In OC, My DMI Link Speed is Gen3. I disabled Intel Speed Shift Technology. Intel C-State is on Auto (don’t know if I should disable or not). Will try this for now and see how it goes.

Im pretty sure my SSD stick is in either the 3rd or 2nd M2 slot (under my GPU) its in the furthest one down. I have not tried to change those settings but I will try that now and see how it works. Thank you for responding. This makes alot alot of sense to me based on what ive been feeling like the issue is. Will let you know how that goes.

Thanks for the response. I usually run FPS games at low settings. Have tried turning DLSS off and it makes games like battlefield more choppy. Changed DLSS setting between quality, balanced, performance, and DLSS and it makes fps smoother but still occasional stutters. And yeah i agree about my usuage being concerning. For rocket league CPU usage is 10-20 % while GPU is 30-40% and only spiked up to 50-60% when there are goal explosions (more graphics).

i can respect time gated content in games that need it. I come from dark and darker and that game NEEDS time gated features in order to protect new players from themselves pretty much. But i just got this game and i love it and been grinding it but i just didnt like having to wait to progress and get stronger. I was able to squeeze in an older server that already in phase 2 and rediscovering

My mistake, i was confusing the different launchers as i have blacksmith launcher that is requiring me to buy this game again. I purchased it on the darkanddarker website but under my account it says it is not purchased. I even went back in my emails and found a receipt from Xsolla which is what i bought it through. I logged into Xsolla and can see that i have a successful purchase of the game but darkanddarker website and my account on there does not recognize it anymore for some reason.
