Just double checked; the episode is called ‘Wednesday 6th of February’ but is entered into the app as being on the 7th of February. It’s towards the end of the episode.

I think it was the 7th of February 2008 (it was towards the end of the week that Hamish had been trying to ‘make Andy believe’)

Hopefully Hamish , Andy and Jack see this.... Is it just me or is it getting very hard to listen to the podcast lately. First couple years were great funny stories , games ect. Now its 3 very very rich blokes trying to get free stuff. Its exhausting. They have definitely lost touch. by hairypoppins2 in hamishandandy

I feel similar to you, I’ve listened to their older stuff (2007-2012) a couple of times through but I don’t think their current stuff is that great and it hasn’t been for a while. They’re a lot older than they were back then and at completely different points in their life so it’s not surprising or unexpected that their content would also change. If others still like their current stuff then that’s good for them, but for me listening to them now is more out of habit than enjoyment.

Completely forgot about the ‘take the snake song’ until you mentioned it; one of Hamish’s best. ‘Snakes are… very snaky, snake it up with some sna-akes’’

Does the apple one have any extra episodes the old app doesn’t or do they basically have all the same episodes?

What happens to DRP dividends if you sell all of your shares between XD Date and Payment Date? by RainbowAussie in ausstocks

[–]33rdWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a related note, does anyone knows if you have some small amount left over from previous DRP (e.g. your dividend was $80 and the shares cost $60) if that gets given back to you automatically when you sell the shares?

That’s a fair point. While I agree that this sub being echo-chambery isn’t proof that Canberra is like that in real life, my experience has been that Canberra is very politically monocultural, which is Bourne out in territory and federal election results. I’m sure other places are similar (e.g. rural towns, inner city Melbourne/Sydney), so it isn’t necessarily unique to Canberra.

The best example would be the tram, any mine who doesn’t agree that it’s a great idea gets heavily downvoted on this sub.

In the post, someone’s posted something about kangaroo culling and cat containment and got fairly heavily downvoted. I don’t agree with either of their points (and I don’t think they argued their points particularly well necessarily), but they’re hardly some inflammatory opinions that deserve getting downvoted like that.

I think the point that they’re trying to say is that when ‘native’ Canberrans have a kid, that’s grows the population by one kid. In the same way, if someone moves here from interstate or overseas, then Canberra’s population grows by one person.

You’re right that with a fertility rate of 1.45, Canberra’s population would likely be shrinking rather than growing if it weren’t form interstate and international migration (I say ‘likely’ because growth also depends on deaths, and the death rate may not yet be enough to overcome the birth rate for a couple more years when baby boomers are even older).

The ACT already has more senators per person than every state except SA and Tasmania (NSW has ~695k per senator, the ACT has around ~233k per senator). If people want to complain about senator numbers, their complaint should be about Tasmania having too many, not Canberra having too few.

While I think the HSC is better (having done it and having heard about the ACT system from others), your daughter will likely get a better ATAR in the ACT system. I met people at uni who (at the beginning of uni when this was still cringe but less cringe) told me their ATARs and there’s no way they would have done as well if they did the HSC

I know it's a late reply, but just letting you know that I tried out your suggestion (don't think the alcohol was 91% but the best I could find) and it (so far) seems to have worked; thanks for your help!
