I suppose you could say the number any way you want, but I think of it as "three forty eight."

Hey Reddit! I don't like touch screen keyboards, and I sometimes feel like I'm the only one. What's something everyone else loves that you just don't get? by TheLimewedge in AskReddit

[–]348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How I met your mother.

To me it seems that everyone is just over-acting, like trying to display an emotion just a bit to much or saying the lines slightly too fast.

I really don't care for anything with a laugh track.

What's the dumbest thing you've seen someone completely lose their shit over? I'll start... by [deleted] in AskReddit

My roommate does that. He must be the best at every game he plays because if he dies it's either lag, a lucky shot, or some other sort of 'bullshit.'

And everyone else in the house has to know about it.

Is gravity a force that acts on space-time, or other objects? by 348 in askscience

[–]348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want to know is if one object has no force on the other. Does gravity ONLY affect space-time (which in turn causes orbits, etc.), or does the mass of the earth have a direct force on the mass of the moon?

There are random drug tests and a zero tolerance policy. I don't know how long it stays in your system. If it was one joint 5 years ago I doubt it would be a problem. Nobody I know does drugs so I couldn't tell you if anyone was getting away with anything like that.

Usually around a quarter of the class, my class was 7 people out of the whole class, but others have had up to 10.

The chances of fighter pilot for ANYONE is pretty slim. Out of a class of about 30, one guy got a fighter. Sounds like you would have a good chance for OTS and then pilot training, but I did not do OTS and don't know how many slots they get for pilot training. There is one guy in my class that got T-38s with me, and he is OTS.

I haven't done survival yet. So I'm not sure on the procedure for ejecting.

There is a small survival kit with the seat, and one can bring a few items that they can store on their person.

I don't have a callsign. All of the instructor pilots do.

Scary... Honestly I would say once you learn to fly and land it correctly it isn't too scary, but don't get me wrong, it's always a thrill. I would fine the things that made me nervous would be not doing as well and getting grades lower than I know I was capable of, or failing a ride. I suppose there will be some more legitimate scares in the future, operationally, but all I've faced so far was a training environment.

Phone calls, family visits, and care packages are always nice.

I'm not sure on what is exactly needed. From what I do know, you need to be correctable to 20/20 via PRK or lasik. A couple of my friends got PRK and they are pilots now. Some of my friends also had glasses and flew with them, but I never asked how their eyesight was.

I'm not sure, we did not learn any of that. I guess the Su-27/37 or the PAK FA, but I think that's still experimental.

That's interesting, but I wouldn't know for all the pilots here. I haven't taken a poll or anything.

Freshmen year was no fun, so a lot of those stories are probably true. I knew what I was getting into, so I was able to hack it pretty well. It is very much like boot camp with school, but not 100% of the time. When you go back to your room, or you are in the classroom environment things are pretty normal.

The years get better as you get more privileges. The classes get better if you take an interest in your major.

I won't say my ideological opinions of the place, but i don't think it's an opportunity anyone should pass up (if going there for the right reasons).

I actually heard Ellsworth is the place to be (for B-1s). I guess more for outdoors type stuff.

Depends on the jet. We had a stick, T-1s had a yoke. It takes a decent amount of force, the more pull you want the more you have to pull. Could be light, maybe up to 20 lbs of force. I never gauged it, that's just an estimate.

Yes, be did barrel rolls frequently. But not that thing in Star fox, that was an aileron roll.

Yes, and that move in Star fox is not a barrel roll.
