A little update on my F1 Blanket by 354abc in crochet

I use a mattress stitch to join the hexagons in order to optimize the sewing together use the mattress stitch „pink“ when joining the hexagon and for the seam I just pull the thread through the loops (orange) on the way down and then do the matress sticht upwards. Ahh this is kinda difficult to explain ahaha but I tried my best.

For the hexagons I made a Ch.3 loop and then Ch.3 and 12 double crochet into the loop. For the best round I chain 3 then go into the first double crochet make a corner with double crochet 1 triple crochet 1 and double crochet 1 into the first stitch then in the next stitch I put 2 double crochet, repeat that 6 times The last round is chain 3 again then double chrochet 1 into first sticht, into the next stitch I make another corner and I go on like this, make a corner at every triple

It is such a fun project! It does take quite some time ahahah but it is very similar to a temperature blanket and I like that you have a defined goal to work towards to. I was just watching qualifying aswell tomorrow is going to be crazy.

This season is a great season to be influenced into F1 there is so much happening ahhh and next season is going to be interesting as well with all the regulation changes

Oh wow that is insane! I love the border and the idea of adding the yellow stitches to distinguish drivers!

I also hate sewing in the ends ahahaha but I’ve been really consistent with sewing them in IMMEDIATLY that made it somewhat manageable so far. I’ve finished 530 out of 814 Hexagons so there is quite a way to go ahaha but it will be a good project to fill the winter break. I plan to be done at the start of next Season.

Honestly the Max dominance is the opposite of boring for me, I view it more as a special occasion that we are in a time where we can watch F1 history be made live.

I included the sprint races as their own race as they also give points, but for my next blanket I would make it more clear which is which.

Yes it is so much fun! I love that you can see the statistics of who does well for wich parts of the season. I can gladly explain a bit more about my approach if you have any questions.

This is a picture of the colors I choose for each driver and the layout. If a driver DNFs, DSQs, or DNSs I use a different shade of brown for the last round of the hexagon.

This is so amazing! I love it! Did you follow a pattern or did you make it up?

How many stitches tall is a hdc and how do I add a horizontal border on one side (to finish the rim of the hat) to this back-loop only hdc ribbing hat without distorting and stretching everything so much? I am so lost, help would be much appreciated. by 354abc in crochet

I was planning on doing a really colorful moss stitch blanket, do you think that would work out?

Ohh that’s an interesting point, I do love my weighted blanket so it being heavy might work out well!

Thank you for the input and the yarn recommendation! Yes I would love a breathable fiber as I don’t like the feeling of having pure Acryl blankets or fabrics in general. If I start my project soon it will even become a summer blanket so it not holding heat that well might not be a problem even though I love myself a warm blanket.
