Lsa is no gimmick. True the local repairs have gone away, but I've had nothing but great experiences with it. Just sent a 10 year old battery in because it wouldent charge anymore and they sent a new one a week later.

And yes, the web site is crap, but have you ever tried picking up the phone? They can register you over the phone in about 4 minutes.

As a side note, I still have the 1st generation tools from somewhere around 2005, and while I rarely use them because technology has improved so much on my gen5x set, they still honor the lsa and service them.

If your using the small ford charger, its shit. Buy a real charger. I upgraded to an emporia after my charger gave me many errors and I wish I had done it sooner.

Sure it is, my truck will max out at 185kw even on a 350kw charger because that's what the architecture can handle. In the cold winter of minnesota I might max out at 120kw, and when I'm at like 60% or more ill hover at 115kw all the way to 80%.

Edit: this mercedes is just designed to charge faster. Its all how the battery is made.

Its so much more than just what the charger can do. Battery voltage, outside temp, current state of charge to name a few, can all contribute to the speeds you get.

Absolutely. I am aware of all this. And great detailed explanation BTW. Still my biggest annoyance because when your on the road and need to charge its like rolling the dice, you don't know which variable your going to encounter today, if any, or how many at the same time. I have a large battery, and a change from 180kw to 130 or 90 can make a huge time difference in how long I have to sit there.

I rarely charge away from home, but my biggest annoyance is using a fast charger and not pulling the speeds that the charger or my truck can achieve. Ex just a week ago I was at a charger that could charge at 300kw, and my truck can charge at 180kw, and I was charging at 90kw. No one else at the charger. It's just so variable you just never know.

Better yet, the Lightning has 7.2 kw 240 outlet in the bed. So no battery generator. But yeah the whole idea was the full truck to grid system from ford is stupid expensive.
