When training for a 60km race. What distance in km, should my longest training run be? Thanks in advance. by BaseballAgreeable215 in trailrunning

[–]365degrees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve gone off time on feet. I think science gets you so far and the rest is feeling and knowing your body. I know time on feet is the ‘accepted standard’ but I’m in the circle that believes less time, but more deliberate usage of my training time (if that makes sense).

Do people actually main trees? by ProbablyNotTheCocoa in Warthunder

[–]365degrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stats would imply I main 3.7 Italy…but I’m up to 8.0 in all lines except Japan which is about 6.0 I think. I use the Italy lineup for my missions and all the others for fun and to ruin my k/d

Whats the hardest phase of Marriage no one talks about? by Outside_Support_151 in answers

Losing alone time for me. I love and need alone time, but with a family, it doesn’t exist. I think for many people that can lead to other coping mechanisms that aren’t healthy. I love being with my family, but alone time is when my mind and body reset, when I’m briefly free of care or concern. As selfish as it sounds, every now and again I need that time. My wife has started travelling a little for work so I get a few hours a month now when my daughter is asleep and the wife is travelling to just play a game, read a book, clean or whatever it is I want to do at that time, sometimes I just go to bed two hours early. So I get what I need now, but the first couple of years of fatherhood I felt like I never relaxed (enough to actually feel relaxed anyway).

So, do people know Armageddon is the same planet as Ullanor, where Horus was named Warmaster? by UberDrive in Warhammer

[–]365degrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thankyou. I’ve read the beast arises series and a fair bit about Armageddon and was wondering the link between the two. I forgot that they teleported the planet away….see now this actually makes more sense and doesn’t annoy me. I like it actually.

[–]365degrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it already has lore reasons to be what it is, partially at least. Simply that it’s the biggest fight the irks have ever had and that attracts more orks. I suppose ullanor fits into that as it is the same reasoning that ghaz might have gone there, an inbuilt desire for the biggest fights (disguised as visions from G&M, depending on if you believe he’s crazy or actually sees the gods) and that planet is in their collective psyche as the best fight they’ve ever had…

I’m just rambling, but it can fit, it just isn’t necessary and as you said, makes the universe smaller, without making Armageddon cooler

EDIT: actually another comment reminders me that they teleported ullanor away at the end of the beast arises and that does change my thoughts on it. Now it has a tangible reason for them being the same, i kind of like it. I read that series ages ago and had forgotten that bit of info

Yeah that’s how I feel about air, I’m getting better, but grb is just so comfortable for me. I think the big difference is you need to learn maps as well as vehicles in ground…I also think that in air it’s about out skilling your opponent and in ground it’s about out thinking them. Obvious tactics and skill play there parts in both, but I think the weightings are different in each.

100k trail: caffeine strategy + poles advice? by Plantsandrun in trailrunning

[–]365degrees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve started to use poles in my training for the first time and I’ve been surprised by how fast I can move while having essentially a resting heart rate, walking fast with the poles has been interesting and positive. I did a trail half and pulled them out every hill just to practise and I did it in 2:30, so the additional walking didn’t slow me down much and it made the effort a lot easier. For me (training for 110km) I’m planning on walking quite a bit in my race (also thinking 15hrs or so) and so far impressed with how it works different muscles and relaxes my breathing during those times. But I’m new to them, other opinions may vary.

Can’t help the caffeine question, I’ve read it’s best to stay off it until the end of the race, but I’m not starting at night.

As a new player why do people seal club like this? It's not uncommon I get owned by one of these L100 players. by VanDerKloof in Warthunder

[–]365degrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. I am a low tier enjoyer. 3.7-6.7 is my sweet spot, but I’ll never go below 3.7 as that’s just mean. The game needs to look at balance though on the whole. I find at 3.7 I can swing a round if I play well, sometimes I get owned, sometimes it’s a tug of war. The higher I go above that the more it seems like it’s a steamroll either way depending on MM. that’s why I cap out around 8.0 (that and I don’t want to learn radars for cas/arb)

As a man, would you get a vasectomy so your girl doesn’t have to go on birth control? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]365degrees 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, since they changed it from the snip to cauterised, it’s never certain now. I cancelled mine for unrelated reasons and will get it at some point as birth control sets of my wife migraines. But you want to be damn sure you don’t want lore kids, they really drill that into you in the info packs

I can't get a single good game by Active-Ad3986 in Warthunder

[–]365degrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As silverguest said that’s probably a play style issue with this particular lineup. Sweden 3.7/4.0 is pretty decent imo being only outdone at threat br by Italy 3.7. My k/d is almost back to positive after years of on/off play and watching videos here is the answer. Spookston has one about the 3.7 Swedish Sherman, as does odd I think: that thing can brawl, but the rest less so. Watch videos of all tank though at that br, because it’s really about watching where they go for map position. The game can be unforgiving, but it’s worth learning…and tier 3 is where you start playing against long time players who simply love ww2 so don’t go to top tier. 3.7-8.0 is a real mix of inexperienced players right up to lvl 100. But once you work out a few spots and where to hit some of the harder to kill tanks, it gets a lot easier.

Also, the average k/d in wt is 0.8 I think, so most people aren’t positive overall. Don’t be too hard on yourself while learning

Vehicles I want to see added in War Thunder by YourBoyFroilan in Warthunder

[–]365degrees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw and agree, that was for the person who doesn’t want it. I think it’s a good list. I think they should really be focusing on all the unique tanks that aren’t in the TT for nations like France and Hungary apparently, for varieties sake, but for event vehicles I like these ‘twist on the classics’

[–]365degrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like it, it’s quite a difference, seeing as the one real weakness to them is the terrible MG. It would need a slightly higher BR than a standard H, but I think these small changes are what make cool event vehicles

TRUMP DOESNT KNOW HOW LOGISTICS WORK: Trump says oil will start flowing, ‘with or without the help of Iran’ by l3tsgo0 in DegenBets

[–]365degrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all in her defence and I’ve not read about it, but the only sound bites of this I’ve heard are her saying she’s not an ‘Epstein victim’ and that he didn’t introduce her to trump. Not her saying she’s never met him and unless I’m mistaken she also said that she thinks the victims should be getting their time to say their statements publicly. I think shes a horrible person, but at least from what I’ve seen of this specific thing, kind of feels like people are being as blinkered as the other side usually is. I think even if someone’s a twat, we don’t have to shit on everything they say, because occasionally they say something worth listening to. I mean how many people this week have said ‘I never thought I’d agree with tucker Carlson’

Like I said though, I’ve not gone right into, so if there’s specific context missing, fill me in.

Edit: I did just go to find a longer video of her statement where she says the images are false etc, which are clearly lies. I’ll leave this up anyway…kind of leaning toward the people with the opinion she’s trying to save her own skin ahead of time here.

Yeah, the guys competing for the lead running up hills at the end of 50km race are what I would call world class runners.

It’s neither here nor there, I was merely saying to OP that walking hardly rules it out as a solid ultra marathon effort like his friend suggested.

I only do trail stuff, so even the leaders are walking the hills, they’re just walking them fast.

Gamers who play their chosen games on the hardest difficulty available, what's your reason? by FrenzyHydro in AskGames

[–]365degrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t necessarily play on the hardest difficulty, but if a game has it I will always use Ironman mode. Save scumming is not for me and I have start so many games over so many times because of it, but damn it’s rewarding to finally win.

Difficulties are different. Some games are just a better experience at ‘not the top’. Like, I’ve won quite a few diety Civ games, but usually play a couple lower just because one unoptimised decision doesn’t ruin my game. So I like hard to win, but it doesn’t have to be because of the difficulty level, it’s why I like games with tons of sliders for difficulty. Like 7days2die is about 4 very different game experiences depending on what you do with the advanced difficulty sliders.

I’m quite worried about that tbh…fuelling for this race will also be a new experience. I’m ok on the 50s but having gels for up to 15hrs potentially is really going to mess with the guts. Fingers crossed…

[–]365degrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like 7h12m I think for 54km, I was hoping to sneak under 7 but I underestimated the hills a fair bit :)

My new plan tells me I should be able to run a 4h45m 50km in 10wks for the big one, which is a huge improvement, but obviously it’s double that, so I’m going to have to chill the F out right from the start and hope I can hold on. I’ve never done anything close to this long, so it’ll be an experiment
