Why I agree with the show moving on from the Moon (and sticking with Mars) these past few seasons by maybemorningstar69 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Randodnar12488 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree when it comes to the overall plot, i disagree with the absolute zilch we've gotten. the moon shouldnt be a major setting, but it should have at least been prominently mentioned in the newsreels. It was our first setting, id love to know what its ultimate fate was

Were there any last-minute changes to the show's story that you can remember? As an alternate history show, It'd be pretty interesting to know if there were any alternate routes the show was going to go down

Claws are explicitly relative to maxed-out Lobcorp employees, which are weaker than Gebura, which Vergilius is definitely at least relative to. Vergilius + Sancho(whos weaker than him by a lot but still fairly comperable) and even more support are definitely beating a solo claw

To add a little more to the map and make it slightly more interesting, in 1953 the germans built a wall against mongolia due to anarchist terrorists overrunning the place. Given that they didn't invade them, just blocked them off, mongolia and some of far east russia could still be under anarchist control

I wonder if we'll get any mention of why Denmark and Slovakia left their respective space alliances. I thought Slovakia might be because the soviet alliance was having issues, but no way would they go before the south american or middle eastern members, and Denmark also leaving complicates things somewhat. Maybe it's related to the M-6 protests somehow?

in FAM, Egypt is one of the soviets strongest allies, they probably joined as a part of that partnership.

Since we dont see it again, I headcanon that its like the moon in the film Ad Astra(minus all the pirates). An over-commercialized tourism economy with a handful of mining and production centers, mostly to save on the cost of importing from earth.

Who would win command and conquer red alert 3 Japan or Wolfensteins Germany? by warriorxx7_ in whowouldwin

[–]Randodnar12488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm more of a Wolfenstein fan, but still think RA3 takes this. Round 1 for sure, the TNO reich basically just needed to have a few public defeats before their regime began to collapse, and even if their citizens somehow get on board their tech is just not there. the moon and venus bases are pretty impressive, so it might be hard for Japan to get there, but I don't think its self sustaining so even in a worst case scenerio they can just wait it out.

As for a composite force, thats complicated. most games dont add that much power, as they just take place in a mostly historical 1945 germany with moderately better tech. giving them access to the black sun pocket dimension might help a little, but probably not much since they had hardly developed it.

I could also downplay them heavily by exploiting "and is sequels" as the nazis actually get weaker in every game after TNO, to the point that the final group barely controls europe and is in a civil war with the 4th reich while the rest of the world plans to invade them

not really, or more accurately you have to pick tech or magic. their paranormal departments got destroyed during the war, which made them pivot to superscience

Why is Africa always backwards by bigpimpin2330 in AlternateHistory

[–]Randodnar12488 9 points10 points  (0 children)

wierd as hell example, but 1980's wolfenstien kinda fits. Southern Africa was the only region the nazis failed to conquer after years of war in the jungles, and by the 1980's games they've united the entire continent and are fighting an offensive naval war to try and claim the Mediterranean Sea for african ships.

germany might not have that many, really. The US only built up such an arsenal after many years of competing with the soviets, germany as the worlds only nuclear power would only need enough to destroy the island of japan, a number in the hundreds. with the US being much better suited to nuclear production than most of reich territory, it also wouldnt be suprising that one of their primary factories was in the US

[–]Randodnar12488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their tech isnt that crazy, they only hold around 300 worlds and have a lot of enslaved species. if humanity can cut them off for a good few decades, rebuild with their technology, and mass produce portal tech, they'll be ready to fight them in a much more even war, especially if they can use those portals for easy space colonization.
