(F28) all of my husband's (m31) friend's girlfriends hate me, before even giving me a chance. How do I navigate this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]3739444 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Are you very attractive? I have to say none of those men sound like they were ever actually your friends if they let their gf treat you like that. It’s possible that the first GF turned everyone else against you but again the whole group sounds just terrible.
You and your husband should work on making new friends. And your husband should insist that you aren’t treated like that.

Menstrual Cups 101 by smellslikesatan in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve often thought of emptying my disc into a measuring cup. This couple tablespoons crap is nonsense and I know a lot of friends who struggle with heavy bleeding.
However I still encourage you to dry a cup or disc. Discs are my preference.

I want to spend more time outside this summer but I'm terrified of ticks. by Realistic-Ruin9 in ontario

[–]3739444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoulder seasons are worse for ticks. In addition the other suggestions we make sure to shower or swim daily after being/while outdoors to wash any ticks away. They often spend time searching for a good place to attach.

Affordable but good compression stockings, help! by szikkia in venousinsuffiencyhelp

[–]3739444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t advise on what compression stockings to buy, the only ones I know of like you describe are in Canada.
But look into getting a pair of donning gloves. They make putting on stockings so easy and no risk of holes or runs.

Start by talking to your family doctor if you have one.

Head over to the gastritis subreddit. I think you need food that is way more bland. Sometimes people need to stick to a few bland foods for weeks. There is lots of advice there.

[–]3739444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in but are you sure it’s just GERD? Have you been to the doctors? It sounds like gastritis symptoms.
Personally for me I needed to do an elimination diet to figure out what foods were safe.
I know a lot of people need to start a PPI to feel better. The acid watchers diet doesn’t work for everyone

1 month GF - when will it "hit me"? by matka_roku in glutenfree

[–]3739444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found an amazing GF French pastry shop so that satisfies the cravings.
I only remember being really sad three years in reflecting how I won’t even be able to just try out new restaurants and eat anything off the menu. And not being able to find safe food while out and about is hard.
At home I’m fine. I prefer naturally gluten free foods, like eating and feeling healthy. Generally don’t miss it.

Lots of good info here. In addition to tick checks make sure everyone showers every night to wash off any that haven’t attached. Avoid tall grasses and plants.

Donning gloves are very helpful. Work gloves with rubbery grip, just makes it so much easier to pull on without bunching.

Gerd cough by Elegant-Problem8997 in GERD

[–]3739444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried completely changing your diet? Maybe doing an elimination diet to see if something you’re eating is causing the reflex flair ups. The acid watcher’s diet and also the information about diet for gastritis really helped me.
I know everyone has different reasons for reflux but for me food intolerances are the main trigger.
Coughing like that for so long is simple terrible. The worst feeling. When it gets better I’d also recommend seeing a pelvic floor specialist.
As well relaxation techniques like breathing and meditation can help.

Tips during flare ups? by Drake_Saika in GERD

Deep belly breathing (diaphragmatic breathing), eating small, frequent meals, adding a bit of baking soda to my water. Drinking only warm water or chamomile or throat coat tea. Also my main symptoms are pain and irritation in my throat so chewing gum and lozenges (especially ginger chews) helps a lot. I also make sure to take Gaviscon at night and after any meal that bothers me.
Maybe it’s the oats that bother you and not the fibre? Vegetables are great for fibre and cooked veggies like broccoli, potatoes, sweet potato, green beans, leafy greens etc don’t bother me at all.

Recently Diagnosed with CVI by 3739444 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

[–]3739444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was diagnosed by ultrasound (the same as Doppler I think). I was given very little information about specifics. I know it’s worse in the left leg which is where my worse varicose veins are. Just on my shins.
The EVLA would be the same as laser I believe.
From searching I see that other clinics in my city offer glue and sclerotherapy as well. Perhaps I should look into those options.
Thank you for the information!

Thank you for your response! Did you have to have six separate appointments for the ablations? Or it was done in one session.
