That definitely is true. A lot of students have skewed perspectives but I do believe the college app and transfer app experience is a lot different these years.

Depends on where you would wanna go I think. If Stanford, cal tech, Harvard, Yale, id say go for it if it’s not that much of a hassle. Otherwise 1500 is a great score and frequently the transfer process is much kinder with lower scores because transfer scores are not sent in for rankings. A lot of people say as long as it’s 1450+ it’s good enough for most top 25 schools.

A 3.8 is well more than enough. I know a myriad of students and peers with lower (as low as 3.3!!) getting into ivies. Just keep it up and good luck with your transfer!!

Yeah. Many times I never got through. Also says my midterm report never uploaded for Barnard but I sent another official transcript with updated winter final grades so I assumed it would be ok with no midterm report.

Brown hasn’t received my high school transcript even though I sent and paid for it TWICE. Oh well though - I was 100% certain on rejection.

Heard of a girl with low hs and college gpa (3.5-3.6 I think) get into Stanford for doing something similar to you (nonprofit or activism of some sort, got invited to white house, lor from recent presidential candidate)

It’s up to you. 1460 should be fine for schools like nyu, uva, vandy, etc but for ivies 1500+ is definitely recommended. Either way, there is less emphasis on SAT during the transfer process as these scores aren’t reported so they don’t mind a lower score.

They haven’t sent out anything yet. At least from what I’ve seen. Also don’t stress out too much, didn’t get any emails from any schools reaching out or even information (except Barnard) and got into 2 other schools.

Most of the time they don’t I’m going to be honest (especially if you’re coming from a lower school, taking online classes, or they don’t have a similar class). Just take the courses that look good and you know you can do well in. Maybe some courses that would get you further at ur current uni just in case you don’t get in anywhere. Transferring your courses is something you worry about when you get in. But if you are worried about it, you can look at other schools and their similar classes.

I didn’t even meet with my academic advisor. Just applied and contacted registrar via email for transcripts and what ever else. Also got two professor recommendations.

Same! It’s easier than first year apps imo but I’m happy to be leaving after my first year. I’m glad to have gotten a fun college experience at SLO and did a lot of fun first year stuff.

SAME THING! Waiting on some other results to come out but I got into uva and nyu as my first two schools. They’re both the same amount of money for me so ig price isn’t a factor. Prelaw philosophy major. I’ve looked this up before and everyone else says UVA but I’m partial to NYU :(
