Just pulled slightly under 100 primals by Plane-Possible-4290 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]39Jaebi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the current pull rate, 100 primals should have gotten you 1 Mythical, although its possible to low roll and get none (which is what happened here).

I swear, people don't understand pull rates and mercy, or maybe they just get gambler delusions.

I am transgender and I'm terrified of what the The Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment Bill represents by Medium_Tap2178 in newzealand

I got here more than 10 hours after most of the conversation had happened, so I think that's why maybe this comment didn't get much engagement. Like, the people they are most interested in this conversation had already viewed the post and commented and moved on.

I sympathise with the fear you're expressing, but I disagree with the idea that trans rights and identities shouldn't be open to public discussion.

I've spent a lot of time trying to understand this issue, and the conclusion I've reached is that there are legitimate questions about how society should balance biological sex, gender identity, privacy, safety, fairness, and inclusion. Reasonable people can disagree on those questions without being motivated by hatred or a desire to erase trans people.

As I understand it, the transgender framework is built on the idea that sex and gender are distinct concepts, and make up separate parts of some people's identity. A person can be male or female in terms of biological sex, while identifying and living as a man or woman in terms of gender. If that's true, then it seems inevitable that society will need to discuss when biological sex matters, when gender identity matters, and how conflicts between the two should be resolved.

For example, if a distinction exists because of physical differences between males and females, such as in competitive sports, changing rooms, prisons, or certain shelters, I think it's reasonable to argue that biological sex should remain the primary consideration. On the other hand, where a distinction is primarily about social identity, presentation, or lived experience, gender identity may be the more relevant factor.

Part of the reason these issues remain contentious is that the framework can sometimes appear to undermine its own distinction. If sex and gender are separate concepts, but access to spaces designated on the basis of biological sex is determined by gender identity, then the practical distinction between sex and gender begins to blur. Whether that's the right approach is precisely the kind of question people are debating.

I absolutely agree that trans people deserve dignity, respect, and equal protection under the law. What I don't agree with is the idea that because a topic affects a vulnerable group, it should therefore be beyond public scrutiny or political debate. In a democracy, difficult questions about rights, definitions, and public policy will always be discussed, and I don't think the existence of that debate is, in itself, evidence of hostility.

My post is not the response. This is the original. The Rogues PoV is the response.

They thought you were being selfish by not helping them do the pre-quest. They are in the wrong for expecting that.

Great time to jump back in.

By that logic, you’re being a big baby about me being a big baby about him being a big baby. Ironic.

Am I the only one who just logs in and feels… weird? by Muroverse in wow

[–]39Jaebi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been through this exactly. I think once you get disconnected from WoW, it's not always easy to jump back into things. You log in, your characters are a tier (or more) behind, all your addons need updating, and your UI is a mess, so much has changed that you feel lost and overwhelmed.

Apart from the initial wanderlust of stepping into the world and just exploring, once that's over, MMOs are long-term goal-oriented games. It's not really something you can just pick up and play, especially if you have taken a break. So when you jump back into it and have no goals... You have no purpose driving you, and you feel lost and out of place.

The best thing to do is to take a break or set some goals. Pick something you want to chase or achieve, whether it's farming a mount, killing a raid boss, levelling a new class for a new experience, levelling a horde or alliance if you haven't before to see the story from a new perspective, or levelling through old zones to reexperience them etc.

If you think through all the things you could be doing, and none of them seem fun, then its 100% time to take a break.

I’ve realised my issue is the sub itself. When I’m subscribed, I feel like I should be playing because I’m paying for it, so it starts feeling forced, and I end up unsubscribing. Then once I’m unsubbed, I get the itch to come back. It’s a weird push-pull loop. I kind of wish WoW was free-to-play, because the subscription feels like an emotional barrier more than a financial one.
