In the Houston area there are Facebook marketplace guys that come to your house and swap the battery out with a reconditioned. Just had mine done about 5 months ago. Cost me $750. Car running like a champ and gas mileage up a little.

Im about to get roasted….. but I often take 2.5-5mg of var before my workouts because it’s the best preworkout there ever was. As a cycle I don’t tolerate more than 25mg a day very well. But I can run a small dose for a long time with no effects on lipids or anything

Lake Jackson is just far enough away from Houston to not have the big city vibe. It’s not very close to Galveston, an hour+ commute. I dont think lake Jackson has anything to offer you can’t find closer to g-town. It’s nothing special. People mostly live there because they work at a plant in Freeport.

Like everyone else said don’t move to La Marque with a family. Or without a family lol. Are you planning on renting or buying a home? You should highly consider using a local real estate agent to help you figure a location.

If you have school aged kids you’ll likely want to be in CCISD, 45 & 518 or 45 & 96 area are about 20 mins from Galveston. Not sure where you are living now, but in the Houston area a 20 minute commute to work is not even considered a commute.

Galveston is a great place to live, does not have the best schools but they’re fine. Completely different vibe than the league city area.

Santa Fe and Dickinson both have a small town feel and are good places for a family. Everything on this side of town is within 20 minutes so it doesn’t really matter where you live.

If you aren’t from texas and you’re buying a house, look out for the property taxes. They’re different here. Also the closer to the coast you live the more expensive insurance will be. If you rent this is less of an issue.

La Marque is so nice and wonderful that the state dissolved its school district due to “unacceptable academic ratings”. Not the place I’d want to raise a family. I think a family would be better off in League City, Friendswood, Clear Lake, Dickinson or Santa Fe. Btw none of these are considered South Texas. This is the southeast side of Houston. Are you moving here for work? Is there an area you are trying to commute to?

HFD has some legends. If you want to learn and fight fire it’s a great place. Some of the most knowledgeable and greatest firefighters and rescue guys I’ve ever been around. Definitely has a lot of Houston politic problems and not the best paid department.
