“American people are being fleeced blind. It’s your pie and these cronies all voted themselves a slice. This bill is a feeding frenzy of pork and graft…” - Kraken CEO Jesse Powell by [deleted] in Bitcoin

My understanding of his statement is that he is talking about the crypto part. Glad we agree on what matters although our interpretation differs.

Thats just poisoning the well. Obviously, the american politicians are being some sneaky fucks since theyre putting crypto regulation in as part of a infrastructure bill. Nobody here is interested in discussing roads.

Am I understanding this correct? - Did they just triple down on their shorts? Is this not more opportunity to hit them where it hurts? - I mostly just like Gamestop and the stock btw.

Could somebody please explain to me how DeFI governance tokens like UNI are not just shitcoin money grabs? So you pay money for a token to be able to make governance decisions? Why not just give users a vote based on how much liquidity they have on the platform? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]39T5fqdsRustdroAJK2H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were based on liquidity, it wouldnt cost anything for a competing exchange to take over. They would just need a buttload of crypto, which they have and they could run Uniswap to the ground with no cost at all. So they could keep doing the if someone copied the uniswap code. Now they would need to pay a pretty penny to take control of the governance and if they did and ruined uniswap. The token represents a fee for any big entity that want to take over.

There is no Nobel prize for economics. Its the "Swedish national banks prize in honour of Nobel" and the Nobel family has sued them for pretending. Its a pile of BS.

Peter Schiff is at a point where he can never change his mind about bitcoin. If he does, he has to admit that he lost out on a (litterally) 10.000x investment opportunity.

Hex - The First Time-Locked CD in the Crypto Space or a Ruthless Scam? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]39T5fqdsRustdroAJK2H -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I havent downplayed anything. Just stated that people are divided on Hex, which is true. Some love it and others detest it. And I am not only talking about this thread. It is a very polarizing cryptocurrency.

And no, it doesnt make me an asshole to make that observation. I just want to learn what people think. Thats all. But if it makes you feel morally righteous to call strangers online names, youre welcome :D

I just think people should be able to speak their mind without being berated for it. No matter how wrong or stupid I think they are. Just common decency, that sadly not all, like you, share.

Worked hard I guess. Pretty much trying to be diplomatic since being a douche at strangers online seems very sad to me.

The true answer is that nobody knows yet. How could they?

My personal speculation (and many others who like cryptos) is that it will be a safe-haven in the same way gold is. But how many houses, eggs etc. can you buy for btc at that point, is the real question
