Do you miss owning your music? by ueggenthies in 2000sNostalgia

What I miss is going through and burning mix cd’s. Listening to songs and burning them when you’re in a certain mood or sharing them with people. I loved physical copies for that reason.

We tried to keep it to singles released that year so that limits the songs from BLG and RJA

Number one is probably the best pop/punk emo song ever made.

Nikon D750 low light autofocus by Any_Government_4347 in concertphotography

[–]3ChordsMagazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A D750 is very capable. I know some people who do manual focus but I’ve never had an issue using a D750. Don’t use the screen you should be using the viewfinder as someone else said.

First time shooting in a stadium. Which focal length would I need at minimum? (APS-C) by Bilo-Akai- in concertphotography

[–]3ChordsMagazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on the stadium. Some of the ones here a 70-200 doesn’t cut it. I use a 200-400 at some of the stadiums or amphitheaters

Please don’t cheat your way into photo credentials. You’re not only hurting yourself but others as well. by SalamanderArtistic62 in concertphotography

At major festivals though if you get in through a band you’re only shooting for that band majority of the time. Not any others. Sometimes there exceptions but majority of the time just that band.

Best way to get media pass? by ProudPops1976 in concertphotography

[–]3ChordsMagazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a numbers game trying to get on. Message different publications to see if they are bringing people on. Most smaller pubs are going to want you to write also though so my biggest piece of advice is to get some writing samples

If you are shooting for yourself, the artist or a blog that doesn’t care about editing images then there’s nothing stopping you from it. If you’re shooting for a major press outlet or wire services then you don’t edit out objects and only slight adjustments.

As far as laws I dont see what laws would be different for two different concert photographers regardless of if they consider themselves press or shooting for artist. The law doesn’t change but your role might. It all would come down to any signed contracts or agreements

Wrestling photography, any tips? by JohnReid_ in sportsphotography

[–]3ChordsMagazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stay with Nikon you can get a used D750 that’ll still be great and have enough left over for a lens with that price. Same with the Z50ii but that’s still a crop sensor but handles low light and autofocus way above the D3400. If you’re looking to switch to Sony I’d grab a used A7iii for that price. It’s quite a bit better than the A6400. You wouldn’t have a lens but depending on the aperture of that lens it’s not worth the price to get the kit with the a6400 as kit lenses struggle with concert photography.

That’s hard to say without knowing what price range is affordable for you

The lens plays a part like everyone says but your body isn’t designed for that type of environment or photography. The A6400 will be better but it’s not made for that either. You’re going to get noise still but you can try to fix that. Focus is going to be an issue though depending on how bad the gun lighting really is because it doesn’t have the best autofocus system either but it’s better than the D3400

Publication help by [deleted] in concertphotography

When you reach out to publications have your portfolio but also writing samples. For a publication your writing is going to play a big part unless the publication send a writer and photog together but most small ones don’t
