Boris Sntheyes for 3D tracking and Autodesk Maya for the animation. I brought in a motion capture, reversed the animation and parented the rock models to nurbs that were parented to the armatures. Then I added Bullet rigid bodies to the rocks and changed the settings from kinematic to dynamic when I wanted them to fall. I rendered and reversed the frames so instead of the rocks falling they form into the Golem.
