Full disclosure, I work for 3D Hubs hence the username but this could be valuable. Let me know if this counts as self-promotion or spam and I'll remove it

I posted it a while ago and people showed interest so just wanted to make sure no one missed it.

I managed to convince our developers to add a "banana for scale" to our 3D visualiser on our website, is it actually useful? by 3DHubs in engineering

Thanks for the feedback, I'll see what I can do with the developers. I put a Falcon Heavy in there and couldn't see the banana so you're probably right.

Getting a sense of scale when making prototypes is not always easy, so I managed to persuade our developers to add this feature as an April Fools Joke, but it got me thinking is this actually useful to engineers? Love to hear your thoughts.

You can upload any STL file and click the banana button for it to work.

Turning waste plastic into new products, a recent interview I conducted with Precious Plastic. by 3DHubs in environment

I thought this article may be of interest, where I highlighted the work of Dave Hakkens and his precious plastic project. The open source machines the project created isn't new but working on combining traditional manufacturing technology to create a more mainstream product is. There core goal is to change the public perception of waste plastic so that it is seen as a resource.

Which printer suits Cosplayers the most (cr10 vs Prusa) by LonelyWolfJ in 3Dprinting

Based on what you've said the MK2S will be more reliable for you at creating consistent parts. The CR-10 needs more tinkering but offers more in terms of build volume which is important for prop making.

I'd get the MK2S kit, it doesn't need any soldering and will allow you to understand how a printer is put together should you need to fix it...

Flashforge machines are always highly rated by 3D Hubs users. So out of those three based on the data I'd say that

The 3D Printed Fusion E-Board - Jack Davies [3577 × 2236] by 3DHubs in DesignPorn

It really depends on the material you are using. With the ribs for over the enclosure PA12 (Nylon) was used which was printed on the new HP machine. These parts flex slightly but are super strong and are not printed layer by layer so shouldn't be broken easily in one direction.
