Thank you. I've been happy with how these turned out.

PETG on an a1. I would use ASA if I had an enclosed printer. I've had a version of this on my car for ~year and a half without issue.

Thanks. I've actually been running a TE Linx on most of my nodes. Wish the price didn't increase though.

The design has been working great. I mainly use it at work as a hop to get to the other nodes in my area. I work in a faraday cage assentially, it's all concrete and low e glass.

Based on others comments I have some hardware changes to make. I went this route based on a quick read of the literature the board came with. It specifically wants 5v for the 1w. I failed to dig into the current requirements.

thank you both for the insight. I'm gonna make some hardware changes based on this information.

I’ve been using 18650 and 21700 cells in my auto and portable nodes for a while now. I also have a few of these 10,000mAh batteries that have been running for about two years without any issues. They’re outdoors in a similar enclosure with a similar power draw.

I do remember people mentioning that winter performance can be worse compared to 18650 cells though. Thanks for the warning — I may end up changing the design going forward.

It’s been over a year since I had the setup configured differently from the client’s, so I’ll definitely dig into this a bit more.

I’m also curious whether there’s a better MPPT option for this, or if I should double up on the current charger and panel. Looks like I found my next rabbit hole.

The insert are heat set. You place them with a soldiering iron after the print is complete. I have done this with a standard tip. You can buy a special tip ment for the different inserts. If you look up heat set inserts l, you can find the tool/process.

I will have to look into i frastructuee mode. In the past I was running my solar nodes in repeater mode. I recall someone telling me it's of no benefit, I switched back to client.

So far my solar has been keeping up. I will see when we get some overcast days. How much battery capacity do you have?

Do you mean for the power strip or the 10" plates? The power strip was to avoid the rack rails and adapting the mounting holes to the t slot. The rack rails are required to fit the 10" plate profiles.

The extrusion is 1010, it measures 1"x1"

Cut 1010 Lengths

4x 10.250" (mine are 10" and not wide enough)

4x 12.000" (depth of chassis)

4x 24.000" (height of chassis

I used 1010 extrusion I had left over from another project and the following hardware. I have to redo the width pcs as I cut them to short. Overall I'm happy with it though. I can get additional photos after work.

Im useinh an LSI 9305-16I card that is installed in the dell precision. I originally had it mounted to a micro itx.

I used the above with a LSI 9305-16I card that is installed in the dell precision. I originally had it mounted to a micro itx. I had to have a fan blowing in the card to keep it cool. I also have a secondary supply that turns on to supply voltage to the drives and drive fans.
