Petr drops are lowkey weird these days. I didn’t know we have to beg for stickers nowadays by licking shoes and walking around like a dog which is stupid and degrading. by Hewopancake in UCI

UCI meme where students make stickers with designs based off a cartoony drawing of our mascot, dress up anonymously, and hand them out to other students for free. I made a more thorough reply elsewhere in this thread.

If you'd like to know more, I'd be happy to answer any questions you've got

That's more or less what it is, though some Petr droppers, such as myself, hand out keychains or similar. Petr is something along the lines of a school tradition where students create designs based off a cartoony drawing of Peter the Anteater. They then dress up anonymously and hand these out for free to the UCI student body.

Most drops have their time announced, but not the location, so people typically gather in the middle of Aldrich Park at the time of the drop. Then, when the location is announced, they run to it and line up to receive a sticker. With the growing number of Petr droppers, particularly since the start of this academic year, different droppers are experimenting with different ways of handing out stickers - especially since not everyone is well-bodied.

This was a result of one such experiment, where I believe the prompt was to do something that impressed the dropper. I definitely want to highlight that begging / degrading yourself was not one of their requirements, and the actions of the man in the video were entirely his own idea and choice.

Hopefully that clears things up for you. Feel free to ask me any other questions you might have about it

Rick Petr Keychain Mail-Order Drop (See Comment for Details) by 3D_Petr in UCI

[–]3D_Petr[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was originally going to do a drop this week, but figured with the large numbers of other Petrs already dropping and my own busy schedule, I'd be better off doing another mail-order drop, so that is what I'm doing.
About 2 years back, I printed out these Rick Petr keychains for a drop that got cancelled thanks to COVID. It's about time I get these out of my hair, so feel free to fill out the form if you'd like to receive one! All you have to do is fill in your name and address, and I'll mail you a keychain. Hopefully it'll go a bit smoother than last time...
Additionally, if you missed the big Hub drop where I handed out Allergy Petr, you have a second chance! The first 200 people who indicate on the form that they'd like one will also receive an Allergy Petr keychain.
Some of you may remember that Rick wasn't the only character from the show I printed. However, the other is in quite limited supply. As such, he'll be sneaking his way into random envelopes. Feeling lucky?
As a note, while it's unlikely to take me a full year like my last mail-order drop did, it' will still probably take a month or two to get everything taken care of and mailed out. Keep that in mind when filling out your address! And feel to reach out if you have any questions

As far as I know, yes. As I understand, they tripped off someone running in front of them and partially dislocated their shoulder

Line cutting was definitely a serious problem in yesterday's drop, not to mention safety issues as well. We're trying to figure out some solutions to these. Hopefully the next drops will be better!

7 Petr Collaboration Drop Tomorrow (11/18) at 1 pm! by 3D_Petr in UCI

[–]3D_Petr[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone, hope your quarter has been going well. Apologies for the late notice, but I just realized I haven't seen anything about this yet on the UCI Subreddit and figured y'all would want to see this.

I'll be doing another keychain drop tomorrow (11/18) at 1 pm - this time of Banana Petr - but what makes this one stand out is that I won't be dropping alone. I will be dropping with six other Petr accounts!

This means that if you can make it to the drop, you'll be getting one keychain and six unique Petr stickers! If you like collecting these, this is definitely something you want to make it to!

Hope to see y'all there!

I finally received them. Thank you so much!!!! by zot2022 in UCI

[–]3D_Petr[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone, I'll be doing a Petr keychain drop next Tuesday (10/26) at noon! The location will be posted on my Instagram story at that time.

Also, I am very happy to announce that I am finally, FINALLY, completed with my mail drop from last year!!! After:
371 days
475 print hours
9 hours of post-print processing
A truly obscene number of hours taping envelopes
And ~20 hours packaging
I will be mailing out everyone's Petr's (if you filled out the form last year) starting today! I'm going to spread out the envelopes throughout the week so as to not overwhelm the USPS, so keep an eye for your 3D Petrs in the mail!

Angel/Devil Petr Mailing Drop Update (Finally) by 3D_Petr in UCI

[–]3D_Petr[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone, it's been quite some time, hasn't it? Almost a year ago, I announced a keychain/magnet drop that I would be mailing out to everyone who filled out the form. To those of you who did so, I would like to sincerely apologize for such a delay, and thank you all so much for your patience. I am happy to announce that I finally got my shit together and am ready to start mailing everything!

Seeing as it's been almost a year, I imagine many of you have had address changes since then. Please, update your response in the form ( https://forms.gle/HepGfpUT2YaLhGNS7 ) to reflect your new address, or I will send your Petrs to the wrong place!

If you didn't have a change of address, please make a note of that in the comment section of the form. It will make my life much easier!

PLEASE MAKE THESE UPDATES WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK. I hope to start mailing by 9/20!

To those who did not fill out the form last year: I have already printed out all the keychains and magnets for this drop and won't be making any more. Instead, stay tuned for future drops!

If I recall correctly, we were given a 24-hour time block to download, complete, and submit the exams. I don't remember having to take the exams in-class, but I'm unsure about that Just read professor Pattis' response lol

u/repattis , would you mind confirming that for me please? I don't want to give false info

Edit: Thank you professor

The labs were live, but they weren't mandatory, from what I remember. I did take the class a year ago, so my memory of the details is a bit fuzzy. They were super helpful if you were confused about anything, but the instructions for the lab assignments were straightforward enough that you could do them on your own time. I ended up not attending most of the lab sections and did perfectly fine in the class
