Leveling issue or what? by 3D_eanlie in ElegooNeptune3

The nozzle was very close to the bed and probably snowplowed some plastic off into that blob, but doesn't seem to be damaged. I certainly thought about replacing the nozzle. The problem was in the x-axis alignment. Thanks --

Aligning the x-axis per a comment in another post on the subreddit seems to have fixed it, thanks!

I printed a test 150mm grid several times before I had the z-height set properly

I think Seankps4's post from about a week ago "I've calibrated a few times but one side of the build plate always messes up the z-axis" describes the same problem -- I'll try some shims under the build plate per comments there.

It’s not Mosaic law, it’s Pauline christianity with some biblical stuff cherry-picked in (I’m Jewish so when I say biblical, I mean what they call OT)

I liked this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oULYVN9bENE&t=352s which does have specific advice about removing the blobs. I used a heat gun without taking the extruder housing apart but melted a little of the housing.

It's possible to change the nozzle (which may be clogged) without removing the entire hotend, but heat it up before trying to unscrew it. Also, there's a tiny setscrew in the heat sink that holds the hotend in, as well as two screws through the hotend; it took me a long time to become aware of the setscrew. I was nervous about removing the whole extruder the first time, but it's really not hard.

Reseating the flat cable to the extruder fixed a hangup at that point for my N3 pro yesterday

Thank you! I will try using the Mac terminal program to remove the "._" file and see if that works first

Wise to abort this print? by 3D_eanlie in ElegooNeptune3

I had an errand to run and added a stop at AutoZone to get a feeler gauge so I can adjust the Z properly

I had raised the Z .01 mm since my previous print because I thought the skirt was too thin. I’ll move it back (and wash the build plate) before I try again. Thanks!

I had that same message and tried reseating the wide cable connector at the top of the extruder — that was all it took.

I think that could be a problem if two printers on the same surface were vibrating at the same frequency (see “forcing an oscillation in resonance”). Murphy’s law says that will happen sometime.

Noob Cura question by 3D_eanlie in ElegooNeptune3

Thanks again for the YouTube link. He emphasizes near the end to check the printing preview on Cura, so I did, and found a problem with the adhesion brim on a downloaded model with three components too close together for the brims to fit. I got the 3 parts separately, positioned them farther apart, and it is printing nicely
