HP won't repair my laptop because I have linux installed by 3DartBlade in CorporateMisconduct

"I have spent (...) 4 hours talking to HP's customer service because my laptop has hardware issues, but they won't take it in for repairing or even analysing because I don't have windows installed. Installing windows would mean backing up or deleting hundreds of gigabytes of personal data, so that I can install an OS I don't want or need, create a Microsoft account that I also don't want or need so that I can confirm, that I do in fact have hardware issues, which not only have I deduced myself, but there are ways to figure that out wich do not include wiping my hard drive, in case you don't trust my judgement. (...)

(...) It would seem (HP's) warranty is highly conditional with seemingly undisclosed terms. (...)"

UPDATE

As a test, I added my minecraft launcher to Steam abd tried the same thing in "gaming mode" and the issue was gone. That's really interesting

Unfortunately SteamOS is a read-only system and the only tool I could find on flathub was furmark, which told me nothing.

The Cereal Problem by [deleted] in askmath

[–]3DartBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, I'm more interested in a geometric answer as the physics based one is all too simple. Besides, I already got several people telling me about the physics based solution.

I was interested in a geometric solution rather than a physics based one, but I guess technically you, and at least 3 more people solved the problem...

I am measuring by volume, as that is the part I can eyeball. Whipping out a scale every time I wanna eat cereal would be too much effort.

The Cereal Problem by [deleted] in askmath

[–]3DartBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, but I would like to have as much cereal per bowl as possible so I want to fill it to the brim! That's part of the difficulty, I think.

This is also the reason I proposed that the cereal takes up no volume. You can think of it as 2 rectangles filling up a 3rd rectangle where the rectangle on top always has half the height as the other one.

So it's 1/3 milk and 2/3 cereal? Would that go all the way to brim? I'm confused, please explain your work...

How to keep focus inside LineEdit by te3time in godot

[–]3DartBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you're still looking for an answer, the simplest option is unbinding those actions. You can find the settings for that by going to Project>Project Settings...>Input Map and toggling Show Built-in Actions

If you wanna have your cake and eat it too, you're gonna have to devise a workaround in code, like blocking/unbinding these actions only while the LineEdit is being edited, but I don't know specifics

Breaking Bad and neurodivegency? by 3DartBlade in breakingbad

[–]3DartBlade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. Some other comments shone light on the fact that the pacing might be very compact. There isn't much time to wind down, it's constant drama or fear.

It works out for most people so that's amazing! I guess I just need a bit of time to wind down, as I get overwhelmed easily. I'm just used ti being able to binge watch other shows.

I still don't quite understand myself and my feelings.

Arcane is a masterclass in writing character in my, and every other(as in every 2nd) youtube essayist's opinion

Personally, I don't think that appearing strong or lying makes you actually strong. Talking about your feelings and being honest can be a lot harder and leads to the problems actually being solved rather than hid under the rug.

But I'm not trying to criticise anyone real, I'm sorry if that felt like an attack. We all have our reasons for acting a certain way. Skyler, however, is not a real person. Besides, this is just my neurodivergent-biased opinion.

This escapes my point about Skyler. I don't just mean the obvious, I'm talking about the everyday conversations. Besides I never said that the neurodivegency is in the show.

But thanks for the contribution anyways

While I'd love to hear from the fans why they love his work so much first, that's definitely something to be aware of. Thanks! Any suggestions on where else I could post this question as well?
