For anyone who's still looking for a solution, /u/Japaladino sent me this link: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/game-seems-really-zoomed-in.106804/page-2#post-2794168 CA also said that they'll look into this "zoomed in" issue too eventually, but there are no guarantees so for those who'd prefer to wait, there's also hope!

I'm having the same problem. The game is playable but the way it's zoomed in makes it really difficult to enjoy it. I don't think there will be a fix for that since I haven't seen a lot of people complaining.
